So my wife and I just moved from Winston Salem to Fayetteville 2 months ago. We took our year old boxer to the Vet there before we moved to make sure she was up to date. The vet there did the 3 year rabies vaccination that day.Long story short, we got her records that day plus the new rabies vaccination tag/certificate. I was the one who took her that day.Today my wife took her to our new vet w/ her records that we were given. My wife didn't realize that she got her rabies at our old vet because she wasn't there that day and we failed to flip through and see that there wasn't a new rabies vaccination certificate in the record (the one we got was the only record and I failed to attach it before she went to the vet today). The vet here gave her another 3 year vaccination b'c the last "on record" was her 1 year shot.My question to all dog owners/nc state veterinarians is what side effects, if any, should i look for if there is a rabies over vaccination? Thanks.[Edited on August 9, 2010 at 10:30 AM. She shouldn't have any problems. Lots of times if dogs come in contact with a wild animal (raccoon/opossum) they'll get a rabies booster Vx regardless of when the last time they had one was.

true...great point. we also found out she has a mild heart murmur. obviously i am just being overly cautious now that she has that.

wont have any issues...no worries. i think (and Im stressing here that I think) it can be given as close as a month apart with no ill effects
