Nice car. I'd love to buy it.Would you take 50 bucks down?
7/26/2010 4:27:47 PM
^^agreed.Nice car, amazingly low mileage!Automatic = fail, unfortunately

If he is a college student with time on his hands, keeps a set of keys, doesn't need the money right now, and the payee is a college student with in-state parental fixed address, then a payment plan sounds reasonable to me. But don't wait to transfer the title under any circumstances, as that sounds like trouble to have someone else driving around a ton of steel registered in your name. Just keep the contract, you can sue in People's Court! If the paperwork is short, I'd slap a lean on the car before I kept it in my name.
7/27/2010 12:21:55 AM
yea, I also agree with automatic = fail. I'd buy it if it's a manual.
7/27/2010 12:25:48 AM
I had one just like it, only 5spd. The 90 models had a few issues, but at least you don't have the nissan "hamburger" on the hood. That mileage is amazing.I think I sold mine back in 2006 for around $3200...180,000 miles and a few dents. She was a real bitch to work on too. There's no way in hell I would do owner financing though. I'd slash my price a bit before I'd do that. If they don't have the cash in hand hang up the phone.
7/27/2010 12:46:43 AM
You're set yourself up to get fucked real bad on the payment plan unless ylou really know what you're doing.
7/27/2010 9:05:17 AM
Yall need to be more perceptive. Maybe the screwing will be done by the seller, not the buyer.

You guys need to worry about yourselves...if you don't want to buy the car...then don't worry about my payment plan, price, etc....And to address a couple of comments:Yes the automatic factor is somewhat of a downfall...but believe it or not..some people prefer automatics..I had planned on converting to a manual..which a buyer could do if it was that important to them. At such a low asking price; you could afford to make the change provided you wanted to...besides a 3.0 V6 automatic is still very fun to drive (I never thought I would say that)and no the payment plan isn't a set up to get screwed or for me to screw a buyer...I do know very well what I am doing....My priorities don't match those of you who want to see cash in hand and I am not as distrustful of people as some of you seem to be. I also am a good judge of people. I won't set up a payment plan with just anyoneI am a recent graduate and have a comfortable job that allows me to purchase a new truck..I don't need all the money at once......I am providing this option so that I can get some money toward a down payment on a new vehicle..and heaven forbid that I try to help someone struggling in this economy..I have had hard times in the past and would have loved a payment option so that I could have transportation without immediate funds ...Yes the contract will be ironclad....So, anyone trying to take advantage of it will be deterred...I will get the full amount agreed on...trust me

You try to give a young'en some advice, but they never listen. If you were smart you wouldn't even take a check. Cash or cashiers check only. People are untrustworthy shits. Especially people that are interested in a twenty-year-old poser rice machine. You're right to get rid of it though. They start falling apart around that time and parts are pricey. I'm surprised the injectors haven't already failed. Replacing the injectors will run you about $1000 unless you do it yourself. It's a really shitty engine design.[Edited on July 27, 2010 at 10:47 AM. Reason : .]

I'm no young'en...Therefore I do not listen to young'ens removed from my situation...Who said anything about taking a check? Poser rice machine? really?...smc...you are the expert in ?like I stated before...if you aren't interested in the car...don't comment...I don't care to read your OPINION on me selling a car...get a life..or go outside and enjoy your awesome carFor those interested in the car...you will see how uninformed these people are..the car will sell itself...regardless of naysayers

Don't tell me to worry about my self. I've seen this happen before. Good luck.
7/27/2010 12:25:13 PM
those cars are slow.

About as fast as a Ford Probe, but heavier.
7/27/2010 7:55:20 PM
I am not interested in buying the car but feel the need to comment just because he asked us not to. You may not be a young'en but financing a car for someone who can't get the financing on their own is just a bad idea. If someone can't get the financing elsewhere they probably aren't the best candidates for a loan. Then again who is anyone here to offer a little good advice to a recent graduate. I am sure you have it all figured out. Good luck with your future in loan collections. I am sure that your new degree makes you more than qualified to repossess cars.[Edited on July 27, 2010 at 10:30 PM. Reason : .]

so its a salvage title.that changes the value a little.
7/27/2010 11:31:44 PM
^just curious, whats the difference?
7/27/2010 11:33:55 PM
20-40% from what I've seen.Although I don't know why people care so much about a salvage title on a 20 year old car. I had a 1991 BMW 318is that had a salvage title and you would have thought I was selling some sort of rolling death trap the way some buyers acted. A minor fender bender will "salvage" a $3500 car and the buyer (in this price range) should really be looking at the quality of repairs rather than worrying about the stamp on the title. I'd only mess with a salvage title vehicle above $5000 in certain circumstances though.[Edited on July 28, 2010 at 8:30 AM. Reason : l]
7/28/2010 8:30:06 AM
With a salvage title you can only get collision insurance and you have to sell it if you move out of state. That's really important to some people. Some states make it pretty much impossible to get a rebuilt title, so you can't take the car with you. I suspect the OP moved out of state and found this out the hard way.
7/28/2010 8:35:32 AM
^ Not from my experience. I had a salvage title on my 93 300ZX Convert. I was fully insured, and when it was wrecked a second time, I got a 19k pay out. Now, its possible they missed something, but I never lied to them, and they never asked if it had a salvage (Neither did the bank)
7/28/2010 10:37:33 AM
^^once again youre proving how stupid you are.I have a salvage title vehicle with Full coverage, and no you dont have to sell it if you move out of state.
7/28/2010 6:10:35 PM
Yeah, a salvage title has never bothered me, as long as I know where the damage was. Tends to kill resale for some reason...but if you buy a 20 year old car you'll probably be doing your own repairs anyway.

Fantastic cars. So easy to predictably powerslide, but sticks to curves like glue if you're smooth. The 2+2 is a much better body style, the twin turbo is just too short. It's probably the shortest(height) car on the road, and those fender flares on the front still get me every time I look at them.
7/28/2010 9:22:49 PM
^^lol
7/28/2010 9:26:13 PM
^^except the fact that you have to PULL THE FUCKING MOTOR TO CHANGE A TURBO, if you have the twin turbo modelsome junk.[Edited on July 29, 2010 at 12:29 AM. Reason : k]
7/29/2010 12:29:08 AM
You have to pull half the motor to change an injector.Actually there's a trick.
