Tailgating is one of the lone exceptions when it is okay to drink these brands of beers:Natural "anything"Busch "anything"Steel ReserveStroh'sMilwaukee's Best "anything"SouthPawKeystone LightIcehousewell you get the point. There are a few other exceptions, like when you go to a party and someone told you they were getting the beer. Rather than not drink the beer and seem ungrateful for the free beer, you drink some. The third and last exception is when you are too poor to afford good beers and just feel like getting shitfaced, especially in regards to Steel Reserve, which will knock you down on your ass in no time with it's insanely high (for a cheap beer) 8.1% ABV.
7/9/2010 1:30:51 PM
Fuck you I drink Icehouse all the time
7/9/2010 1:33:02 PM
Well I feel bad for you and your taste buds.
7/9/2010 1:34:47 PM
I brought some cans of Schlitz to one of the last games i tailgated at last year. I had a few left over from my 12-pack the night before. I also had a 12er of PBR.
7/9/2010 1:38:51 PM
I remember going to a couple of Halloween parties one night back when I was back at State, and we got a 6-pack of Schlitz cans for $2.50. It was surprisingly good for the price. I have a 30-pack of PBR in the fridge right now. Would I rather drink something better, of course, but I'm a poor med student. PBR isn't all that bad anyway.
7/9/2010 1:46:22 PM
I kinda like PBR, but my old fallback is BudweiserBTW, those Honda generators are the shit. Sips gas and super quiet...
7/9/2010 1:50:37 PM
that picture deserves a Caption Challenge

I wish we could still have kegs in the lots.

Let's not forget about Schaefer. That being said, just for the record my tailgate beer of choice is and always will be Busch Light[Edited on July 15, 2010 at 3:37 PM. Reason : Busch Light disclaimer]

WARSHERS
7/20/2010 11:57:31 AM
Why not buy a 6 pack of a good beer instead of a case of warm pee pee?
7/21/2010 11:56:52 AM
^w/ "Pink" in your name, and that kinda talk, you gotta be a girl. A 6-pack for 5 hours? That'd be gone in the first hour or two (and you can keep it in a cooler. it can be a case of cold pee pee)[Edited on July 21, 2010 at 12:35 PM. Reason : ]

^that looks glorious
8/11/2010 11:05:31 AM
18 days. what is everyone adding to their tailgating repertoire this year!??
8/17/2010 9:01:33 AM
I added a 78 Ford Econoline van. Currently working on installing second battery and amp to run stereo outside the car and mounts and power for television to go with Direct TV
8/17/2010 10:08:59 AM
^ how are you doing the direcTV. that is my biggest tossup right now...thinking about purchasing the direcTV portable satellite, and bringing my receiver...but i'm not sure if my inverter that runs off my car battery would be enough juice to run all that...what are your thoughts?
8/17/2010 10:45:30 AM
We do that for Panthers late games, but its only 1-2 times a year when they play a 4PM or Sunday/Monday night gameNo point in bringing out the dish and TV to watch the pregame for a 1 PM game
8/17/2010 10:47:50 AM
yea thats the other factor...we have 2 thursday night games, 1 6:00pm game, and everything else is likely to be relegated to 12:00pm or 1pm, meaning no football watching. panthers, yea...1pm. its fine if you want to watch pregame stuff and fantasy coverage, but no game watching.
8/17/2010 10:52:51 AM
Thursday Night games are kinda pointless for the TV as well, unless you want to watch Simpsons or Jeopardy
8/17/2010 10:55:02 AM
so basically i think i'll just wait and see if they announce more game times. but then again, its not like i wouldn't use the satellite dish in future years where we just maaaaybe wont suck horribly and have some later games.
8/17/2010 10:57:11 AM
Remember that ESPNU 3:30 slot that loved us last year, doing the Pittsburgh, Wake and maybe another gameGood chance we get more of those this year, and thats perfect for bringing a dish since you can watch the noon games almost all the way thru
8/17/2010 10:59:22 AM
hmm....so the tailgate lots open at 1:00pm on saturday sept 4th....so if we get there in Trinity at that time, i could set up tv and receiver, etc, and have a large majority the 12:00 games (FSU, Florida), and 1pm games (GT, BC), through the 3:30 games that i actually care about (Clemson vs north texas, Michigan vs UConn, ND vs Purdue).that could be worth the trouble
8/17/2010 11:08:29 AM
Just be sure to guard the remote with your life, or you'll have some fat drunk guy coming up and changing the channel every five minutes
8/17/2010 11:10:07 AM
dont forget you can hook it back up after the game while the traffic lets out ... catch some west coast stuff
8/17/2010 11:10:15 AM
^ also would help in deciding to wait it out and not drive so everyone can sober up
8/17/2010 11:13:33 AM
As a good stop-gap, I use one of these:http://www.amazon.com/Philips-SDV2115-27-Passive-Antenna/dp/B000W5J2JI/ref=sr_1_16?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1282057807&sr=1-16You can find them for 10 bucks at walmart/target, and they receive perfect HD from WRAL/CBS, NBC, WTVD, WRAZ. You can usually find a few games on there and wont have to set up a dish. Although, I want to incorporate a dish into future tailgating plans
8/17/2010 11:14:39 AM
i also just purchased the BACtrack S75 Pro breathalyzer. a good investment for those who want to avoid the DUI in football season. plus, you can verify that your DD is ok to drive.
8/17/2010 11:29:49 AM
About the TV discussion...Would it be easier or cheaper to slingbox the football from your TV using a laptop and an air card instead of taking the whole satellite setup out there?[Edited on August 17, 2010 at 11:38 AM. Reason : ^ my sister gave me an Alcohawk breathalyzer for Xmas a couple years ago. Love it.]
8/17/2010 11:37:40 AM
you would have to have an air card, but i guess for twc people that would work. can't imagine the signal quality is as good as dish though
8/17/2010 11:42:30 AM
Seen a dude stream an ESPN360 game from his laptop flawlessly to a big TV at a tailgate. But only shit games are usually on there...they should take a page from MLB and have the full ESPN gameplan and NFL sunday ticket packages available online.
8/17/2010 11:44:47 AM
slingbox will be way way more trouble than it would be worth. First you have to have the capable upload speeds to provide the signal (i dont trust my TWC signal to do this) and second you would have to have a solid connection out at the parking lot. I havent tried slinging HD content, but im sure the quality would just end up pissing me off.what internet provider would you use to stream ESPN3? is a standard 3g connection enough to watch a game without buffering? Clear has 4G, but it blows and im not trying to buy an internet connection just to watch some football games. The dish was offered up by a buddy of mine who already has it and has DTV.
