premie feature for sure. i've thought of this as well, but would probably turn it into general search keyword alerts. for example, i need to search for qntm, qfred, qntmken AND qntmfred so just username doesn't cut it for me, so why not generalize the service anyways

not to mention, PM doesn't seem like an adequate system for this type of thing. i'm thinking a general notifications system, including keyword search alerts, recent posts in my topics threads, recent posts by My Buddies, new photo gallery uploads, etc etc

Hey frosh have you considered parsing on the user tag? Might make it faster so your code doesn't have to examine each word you know... Just the text between the tags
