and Verizon for using it...I'd love to be able to hack my piece of shit Samsung Intensity to run Java apps. Anybody shed any light on this? Verizon's browser sucks dogballs.

I'd love to get a real phone. Not in the budget right now, unless you can sell me a Q or something for cheap.

Damn, not one useful reply. I guess I ask for something a little stupid...that's what I get...

well, what kind of miracle solution did you expect? you said it yourself - the phone, its browser, and the carrier all are making your life difficult. The first step in getting out of an abusive relationship is to realize that you have the right to be treated with respect. Verizons coverage is unparalleled. In fact I drove past a freaking Verizon tower on my way out into nomans land today to get a truck. Checked my phone and 1-2 bars on Sprint However they do have a knack for locking down phones. If you're looking for a great plan for cheap go get a SERO plan and hook up a Touch Pro 2 or a Blackberry Tour for $10 more. I'm paying like $44/month for mine. And if I ever need more minutes I'll install an Airave for $15/month for unlimited minutes within it's range (which would be the office). That's ~$60/month for practically unlimited minutes, texts, data, and roaming - like half what I paid with VZ.

at 60 a month you're better off with ED450 and a 25% corporate discount. At least then you aren't topping out at the TP2. Unless you really call that many landlines or are roaming 75% of the month.

Sorry dude, you're SOL.Even if you managed to find another BREW based browser, I know from experience that ALL of the on that platform are absolute shit. They farm out the design and development to the lowest bidder, and then slap that putrid shit on all their phones.
