http://www.nintendoeverything.com/41974/My issue is that it looks like they changed the story some. Bond jumping off the dam at the beginning with Russian guards behind him? I'll definitely buy this simply because it is Bond, but I don't like the fact that some of the story from the movie/game looks to have been altered. Also I like both Brosnan and Craig as Bond, but I really don't like that Craig is Bond in this. This better be good though and not some awful game that just takes the Goldeneye name like Goldeneye: Rouge Agent was.I really hope that Microsoft is now allowed to finally put their updated original version on XBLA now. I'd buy that one too. Nintendo was really pissed when Microsoft tried to release it last fall, now Nintendo gets their own version of it.
6/14/2010 8:39:19 PM
ODDJOB IS STILL FUCKING CHEATING
6/14/2010 9:25:55 PM
so Microsoft buys Rare but can't get Goldeneye on XBLA? that doesn't make sense to me
6/14/2010 9:54:40 PM
Looks nice but I too agree that Craig in Goldeneye just isn't right. Should have stuck with Brosnan.
6/14/2010 10:04:39 PM
Damnit, this should be coming out for Xbox360. I want to play this shit online.
6/14/2010 10:12:10 PM
A remake seems really unnecessary. They should've done like MS did with Perfect Dark and released an HD ED version at 60 fps with online play.
6/14/2010 11:16:17 PM
^ I was hoping that after this was released, then the XBLA version would be allowed to be released. I've always hoped for that 360 one to come out and if they really want to cash in on the GE name, then to make it a third person shooter. I'm not too high on this one because like they said it is a 're-imagining', it got caught up in the same shit that the XBLA version did. They couldn't use character models, or the models for the levels because of the Bond/Goldeneye rights being split between Rare/Nintendo/Activision. Everything is new.

this actually intrigues me a little bit, compared to the other EA bond games, they seem like they are really trying to recreate the original game's good stuff and it's by the guys that did dead space extraction which I actually think they did a good job with, even though I wouldn't buy that type of game
6/15/2010 7:04:08 PM
I'm still waiting on that Goldeneye recreation they were supposedly doing with the Crysis engine. I haven't checked in over a year, maybe they have one more weapon model by now, three total.
6/15/2010 7:23:15 PM
I see they haven't changed the graphics a bit lol. still pumped thoughoh and
6/15/2010 7:32:30 PM
What I don't like is that this is supposedly a completely new game. They're billing it as a remake of GE 64, but it is just a new take on the Goldeneye story and how it would've been if Craig had been Bond instead of Brosnan. This means the levels, guns, etc. will all be different. I also don't really like the fact that it looks like they're building it off of the Call of Duty engine again, just like that game they made off of Quantum of Solace.
6/16/2010 1:04:35 PM
Next Tuesday.
10/24/2010 8:57:51 PM
I'll be getting this, but I still kind of wish they'd just made it new and not bothered with the Goldeneye angle of it. From everything I've seen it looks like a completely new game in pretty much every aspect. It does look a lot better than I thought it would though. I was expecting a pretty cheap cash-in attempt.
10/24/2010 11:47:44 PM
So, anybody actually gonna play this with motion controls? Im thinkin about getting the bundle with the classic controller pro.
10/25/2010 7:13:35 AM
you could always buy one of thesehttp://www.japanvideogames.com/4-IN-1-SNES-NES-GENESIS-N64-WII-CONTROLLER-ADAPTER-p/wii-898455678550.htmSet you back $20+ but you can use the n64 controllers you have somewhere in storage and other original controllers for which you may need adapters.
10/25/2010 11:52:27 AM
I WANT THIS GAME!
10/25/2010 11:55:26 AM
This might be the first new game I buy for the Wii in the last 1 1/2 years.
10/25/2010 3:33:43 PM
anyone try it yet?
11/4/2010 3:42:39 AM
i've played through the first level on single player and played one online match, and did both with motion controls. the single player, i used the zapper. it can work, but its definitely gonna take soem adjustments with the sensitivity and the aiming box (i forget what its called, but its space you designate to be able to aim before it starts registering as you trying to turn). on the mulitplayer game, i took it off the zapper and just used wiimote + nunchuk. it went better, but it'll still definitely take some getting use to. i have yet to try it with a gamecube or classic controller.
11/4/2010 9:11:00 AM
i think what everyone actually wants to know is how close it resembles GE64.not what you used to play it with...
11/4/2010 12:48:15 PM
^.
11/4/2010 2:35:36 PM
I haven't bought it yet, but it's gotten pretty good reviews. Everything I've seen/read is that this game is not similar at all to GE64 (which is why I wish that canned project for the Live Arcade re-release would've happened). Levels are different, there are more/different objectives, levels were taken out and others were added, changes made to the story, all the characters are back, but all look different, etc. Basically they reworked everything from the ground up and made it like they think Goldeneye would've been made with Craig's Bond instead of Brosnan's.
11/4/2010 2:44:47 PM
i didnt really play single player GE64, so i cant tell you exactly. its very different, from everything i've read. some of the same set pieces, but otherwise the plot and style is meant to match craig's version of bond. i did play a lot of GE64 multiplayer and i can say that the new version feels similar to that. i dont think i'd be able to completely compare it til i tried some local multiplayer, but the fact that you can do 4 player split screen speaks volumes as to how it compares. 4 player split screen is kinda hard to find in an FPS these days. as for online, it does have regenerative health and an xp system, so it borrows some things from CoD. but there's still the golden gun and familiar faces/boards.i addressed controls cause thats the first thing i always think when it comes to wii.
11/4/2010 3:03:00 PM
does it work with the nyko perfect shot gun?
11/4/2010 7:24:51 PM
it doesnt have a specific preset for it, but i'm sure it would work if you tried it.
11/4/2010 8:27:24 PM
This game is so much fun. I'm terrible at it just like the original, but I've only played online once.
11/7/2010 7:54:31 PM
Can anyone confirm if they put the RC-P90 in this game?
11/8/2010 9:14:36 AM
for anyone tryin to play with the wiimote/nunchuk, i found these settings online and they made a big difference for me:http://uk.gamespot.com/wii/adventure/goldeneye007/show_msgs.php?topic_id=m-1-57031340&pid=997757&msg_id=m-1-630763424#m-1-630763424\
11/9/2010 6:54:45 PM
played 10 mins and the first level layout was identical to GE64.
11/10/2010 1:50:55 PM
Except not at 4 fps?
11/10/2010 7:06:23 PM
it's a Wii. It still plays at 4fps.
11/10/2010 7:31:04 PM
hahahah i think the frame rate is worse
11/10/2010 9:08:09 PM
I am sooo disappointed with the wiimote/nunchuk controls. I did the mod from that forum, but it still sucks. Classic control pro is the way to go.
11/10/2010 10:19:03 PM
yeah i'm going to get a classic controller because of this game.
11/15/2010 12:27:40 PM
I need to try this game at some point.
11/15/2010 1:15:26 PM
I tweaked the controls like in the post a few posts up and it does help. I still plan to get the classic controller.
11/16/2010 11:17:16 AM
ok so its different once you enter the tunnel. the game also makes me motion sick. back to the closet wii.
11/16/2010 11:49:00 AM
bumpthis game is pretty damn fun
12/1/2010 8:56:21 AM
So now that getting a Wii is right around the corner I finally got around to reading this thread. So, why Craig's Bond? Was it some sort of licensing issue - where they can only release new games with the current Bond actor? For all I know there's been a recent Bond game with Brosnan, I haven't kept up, this was just a guess as to why they'd do something like that.
12/1/2010 11:47:07 AM
^ Yeah it was licensing. They tried to release the original one on Xbox Live as a download, but Nintendo owns part of the original along with Rare and currently Activision holds the license to make the games. So they went the route of a semi-remake where they changed the level designs some, took out a lot of things, changed the script, added Craig in for Brosnan, etc.
12/1/2010 12:15:30 PM
lookno one has definitively answered this question:IS THE MULTI-PLAYER STILL AS FUN
12/2/2010 11:40:21 AM
noand its not even close
12/2/2010 12:06:08 PM
yes. I've had a lot more fun with this game than the original.
12/2/2010 2:02:44 PM
well fuck that sucks. that's mainly why i wanna buy this game!
12/2/2010 2:04:30 PM
YOU LIE SMATH![Edited on December 2, 2010 at 2:06 PM. Reason : SMATH FACE!]
12/2/2010 2:06:20 PM
actually i'm telling the truth... i haven't tried the split screen version yet, but the online version is a lot of fun.
12/2/2010 2:12:11 PM
that game is not more fun than the original, come onquit playin
12/2/2010 2:14:04 PM
well that's like your opinion man. i've played this a lot more so far and had a lot more fun so far.
