I'm only a little bit in the pilot thus far, but it reminds me a lot of " Three Days of the Condor". That isn't a bad thing...

Also, glad to see the The Pacific guy make it back.

AMC had a special airing of the pilot last night following Breaking Bad.

It's on hulu or amc.com if you want to check it out though.

yeah, it definitely had the slow-burning 70s vibe to it...I think I was a little too worked up about the Breaking Bad finale to fully appreciate the pilot though. I'll have to watch it again before the second episode airs just to refresh my memory.

Watched the Pilot a few weeks back and thought it had potential. I DVR'd the latest and will watch it soon. I hope this is good. I really like this type of show.

were there 2 new episodes tonight? or did they play the same one twice in a row (which happens a lot with premiers)?

Just curious b/c i recorded 1 episode. I want to make sure that if there were 2 separate episodes, that I don't watch the 2nd episode before the first.

Watched both episodes last night. I too, thought it was a little too close to "Three Days of the Condor" but by the end of the second episode I can see it moving in a new direction.

Im def planning on watching a few more, Its def more entertaining to me than most of the BS on TV.

just an FYI the original show creator and runner left this project after the pilot was written and filmed. I don't know if anyone really paid much attention but you could really tell a difference in mood and the feel of the show from the pilot and this third episode. This one didn't have nearly the dark brooding mystery that i got out of the first two episodes. Everything felt really cold and dark and it really helped you feel what the characters did. This third episode just felt "regular". all that subtle detail was missing. Also, this came off as very much a "treading water" episode to give the new creative team a chance to figure out where they are going to take this show. and that has me quite worried. It's never a good sign when a creator leaves early like this.

Yeah, I didn't like the 3rd episode as much as the first 2 but it wasn't so bad that I'll stop watching. Sepinwall said that Sunday's episode is a procedural one that doesn't advance the overall story much at all, so that doesn't bode particularly well either.

i just watched the latest episode....

im wondering if Spangler might have taken Travers with him because he had a hunch that the other 3 analysts would decide to strike that target w/ the predator ... and that Travers would have been able to decide against it and convince them of the same

ratings arent stellar but as we've discussed (in the walking dead thread i believe) AMC is usually pretty trusting with their series so i imagine we'll get to see it all play out. if it's one season, 2 or 5 we don't know. what i can tell you is the original creator left after the pilot so i think they're still plotting the series timelines as they go.

i'm hoping the series is a multi-season thing and not a limited "10 episodes only" kinda series. i've really gotten into the show and enjoy watching it so it's a success for me, not like that matters to the execs tho haha. i've also really come to like james badge dale as an actor, esp after "the pacific" and now this show.

yeah, it was obvious that there was a change in the show after the second episode. The previous 2 (before this week) weren't that impressive for me. It seemed like they were just kind of buying time to decide what they wanted to do with it. I was actually losing interest a little.

but the one before last did at least develop some characters more. And I really liked the most recent episode. It seemed to actually be heading somewhere, and doing a good job in the process. I'd say it "renewed my hope" in the show.

The show is kind of slow moving so far, especially the first two episodes. - which is fine by me, but that's not necessarily attention grabbing for the first few episodes of a series. And then not much really happened in the next two as far as really moving the plot forward (probably because of the show runner leaving). That could be contributing to low initial ratings. If people get caught up and the show picks up a little as they establish some things, I think the ratings will improve.

-- and AMC really seems to be advertising that there are recaps on the website and have done a good job recapping a majority of the plot before each episode so viewers don't feel like they've missed too much.

based off what we have seen and know i think it is too soon to really know for certain what the whole picture is in all of this. the 4 leaf clover was shown a lot during the previews before the show started but yet we've only seen the 4 leaf clover a couple of times with no real explanation yet. eventually things will come together. but i think the best part was the end when Will asks Kale about who they really work for. i think that question is telling in itself about the direction the show will take.

very good episode last night i must say. Kale is one sneaky mofo and knows a lot more than what he letting on to Will and to anyone else. i'm not sure if it's because he is involved or is protecting himself but he clearly knows. Spangler being an "employee" of Citizens/Garson/Atlas was not a big surprise but a nice confirmation he is apart of something that doesn't seem to be on the side of good, from my take on it anyway. perhaps it is like the octopus, as Will called it, is formulating events around the world to happen for maybe monetary reasons? or power? or influence at top levels of government? i'm still working on that one haha. but Will saying that the octopus had ex-military generals and senators involved certainly shows something is amiss and being covered up.

and i really liked Miles in last night's episode. he's quickly becoming my 2nd fav on the show. the torture thing was a bit much i thought tho.

another great episode. this show glues me to the tube for a solid hour. and i love that the secondary stories with miles and tanya are done well enough to keep me interested when the main conspiracy doesn't advance much.

I suspect we'll see the gentleman who was getting serviced by his secretary receive a 4-leafed clover soon.

^ correct.

^^ the backstory for Will is that his wife and daughter were killed in the WTC attacks on 9/11 so that led him to become a very introverted, shy type guy around other women; he never got over the loss. altho he is making improvements by hooking up with his neighbor and at one point, trying to get involved with Maggie, before she turned informant for Kale.

damn good episode last night i gotta say! i was really on pins and needles (no pun intended) with Bloom in Will's apartment just waiting for him to come home. the only question i had with that scene was Bloom had stuck Will in the hand with the needle (assuming heroin in it?) but Will didn't have any effects from it. does it have to be directly into your vein? otherwise it does nothing? drug noobie here lol

i'm starting to like Kale too. i still think he knows a lot more than what he is letting on but he seems to be letting Will do his thing now since he knows Will is going to anyway. i'm trying to figure out why Kale is helping him tho. does he perhaps want Spangler's job and knows this is the way to obtain it? have Will do the dirty work and bring Spangler down? i'm still trying to get that angle on Kale but no luck as of yet.

The new theory of who Kateb is was spot on by Grant. I loved exactly how he phrased it and described it in the API conference room for everyone. "do people really fall out of the sky?" haha good stuff.

i think we are really getting close to having this thing wrapped up. i hope there is a season 2 but if there isn't, i won't be disappointed at all with this show lasting for 1 season. it's been just my kinda show that i look forward to every week.

o man, intense episode.

he may have been feeling effects of the drug the whole time, or maybe it was dampened because he just had to fight for his life.

but either way, kale is badass. i wonder if he didn't really know what spangler was up to/capable of until david was killed, and that flipped a switch in him.

only two episodes left in the season, so should be interesting. i hope it's wrapped up nicely, especially if a second season hasn't been locked down.

GREAT episode, though I was hoping for more from the letter Katherine Rhumor found than just a love note.

You have to inject it into a vein for it to do anything, and the guy didn't get a chance to push the plunger down before their struggle began.

yea the letter said to continue to celebrate their anniversary and her reaction was all wtf is he talking about. so there's definitely big significance there. the date could be the date of Kateb's attack or it could be code for something else. just have to see

she did say they were falling in love right when a previous event/disaster/attack/whatever occurred, so maybe their anniversary is around then.

or maybe not.

there is definitely code in the anniversary date. i think kale knows what spangler is up to but he isnt in the position to bring him down. bloom fucked up from the start when he left evidence that 'struggle' had ensued. the back and forth between will and truxton was golden. miles and julia like each other.

great show

caught up with the last 2 this weekend. Great episodes that definitely had be on the edge of my seat. I loved Spangler's reaction to discovering Will's call to the Fischer Island library. I doubt there is any way a season two can happen with Spangler still around, I will miss his character very much.

once again, very good episode. i was stuck to my seat that whole hour watching intently. there's a whole lotta mess now considering Spangler knows that Kale and Maggie have been helping Katherine and by default Will. it's all falling apart around him as more people are turning against him. i think it's only a matter of time until Spangler is forced to off himself for the protection of the syndicate of powerful men. the question is will he do it or somehow weasel out of it, not sure there.

i felt the scene with the FBI guy in the API conference room telling Miles what to do and how to do it was a very telling, representative account of real life and what could happen when agencies do not cooperate and instead argue and take inane approaches to gathering and analyzing important data. but i gotta say when Spangler came in and made that phone call and said to the FBI guy "do what he says" i just smiled and laughed a bit.

but getting back to Spangler (i think this was a Spangler-centric episode myself) and his utter joy on his face watching the news footage of the tanker explosion was so evil and maniacal. he did his best to hide his excitement and joy but his facial expressions and the little smirks he had a few times showed just how disgusting of a person he is, all to make $$ for himself and his associates. i am really looking forward to the finale and how things get wrapped up, if at all that is.
