Getting leverage for a bigger payday it looks like.

I hope to god he does it, then we'd REALLY be on the map for landing big named recruits... this would leave another three or four 5*'s available every year.

I bet it is the patented Calipari impending NCAA sanction job switch. Sure didn't take him long in this gig did it?

I hope he does and think the NBA will eventually call his name and he answers.

He knows the college system so well though and how to skip around the rules...I cant see him leaving it any time soon, he reminds me a lot of Pete Carrol.

^^ That's going off at 1:10 odds right now.

You can put up $100 that Kentucky will be sanctioned in the next 18 months and if it comes true you win $10 in addition to getting your $100 back.

Almost seems to good to be true, it's a free 10 bucks if you don't need the $100 right now to pay bills...

Its also a 10 percent return on your investment over a potential 18 month period

You'd be better off with a more lucrative endeavor

^^ You can't find a sure thing at 10% in 18 months anywhere. Plus, in all likelihood the holding period will be under 30 days haha

You used to be able to get an 18-month CD that nearly got you 10% interest

Now you're lucky to get 2.5%

granted i wanted calipari to come here and don't give a fuck how he gets his recruits, and in fact wish that we had cheated on lorenzo brown's SAT for him like that fucking genius calipari would've done: but how dumb does this AD feel? you had to see him doing something like this coming from a mile away, but at this point you're forced to play ball w/ him b/c you can't possibly lose calipari and keep your job.

Thank GOD we didnt get this asshole. If Kentucky knows whats good for them, they'll let him go, and get someone good that will stay. Its pretty obvious he is only in it for the $$$, and as soon as the next highest bidder comes by, he'll whore himself out.

i think what they were banking on is that he already failed in the nba and didn't want to do it again and no one would bid higher than them in college. they are right about the latter, and probably about the former.

[Edited on May 5, 2010 at 9:42 AM. Reason : i guess they didn't plan on having to make him even moreso the highest paid college coach.]

The only thing Cal is loyal to is CAA. If they push a superstar there in free agency to team up with Rose and then agree to pay Cal, he's gone. When is the last time a contract stopped any coach or team from moving on in sports?

It's only a matter of time before he is "on to the next one" even if the Bulls fall through.
