Having some trouble with 64 bit Windows 7. We are using the Avaya phone system at work, and have it integrated with Outlook so that you can simply click on a contact and use the "call" function. I also had some additional software that would scan all of your outlook contacts during a phone call and show a pop up on your screen of who was calling. After upgrading to the new system, I cannot get the TAPI driver to install on my system. From what I understand, the TAPI driver is what allows the integration between your phone and software on the computer. Basically the computer no longer can detect I have an VoIP phone, and therefore none of the extra features would work.I asked our IT guy, and was told "as long as you can pick up the receiver and the buttons still work, it's a low priority non-issue and I wouldn't worry about it"...thanks.Have any of you had any issues with something like this? I've web searched for over an hour will no real solutions. Most of them claim you need to install and uninstall the driver about 4 times for it to work, which makes absolutely no sense to me. I did try it (go ahead and laugh) and to no surprise it didn't change anything.
