3/14/2010 1:17:20 PM
The thought has crossed my mind a few times in recent days.Orange car here I come

Tip: Wax the paint of your car with a synthetic sealant like Mothers SynWax or Duragloss #105, the pollen wont stick as bad. Carnauba attracts dust, a sealant wont allow it to stick. Also use a water based tire shine dressing to prevent yellow tire syndrome.
3/14/2010 5:40:01 PM
you can spray it off with a water hose in a couple minutes
3/14/2010 7:47:01 PM
I'm glad I'm not driving a car I have to wash every other day, at the moment
3/14/2010 7:57:59 PM
^^yeah not really
3/14/2010 8:49:28 PM
3/14/2010 9:05:01 PM
lol, you can rinse it mostly off...but can't dry the car. Thus the pollen will stick even easier. Of course feel free to dry the car off...if you like scratching your car
3/14/2010 10:38:00 PM
^truth.
3/14/2010 10:55:37 PM
i got dat leafblower
3/14/2010 11:41:35 PM
I'm with NRR on this one, hose that shit off. No reason to bother with sealants and all that shit till the pollen is long gone. Then strip, claybar, seal, wax, whatever you need to do to make you feel better.
3/15/2010 3:14:16 AM
^ If you must rinse it off, the sealant makes the pollen not stick so it will rinse cleaner. Been doing it for years with customers cars.
3/15/2010 9:05:37 AM
A good coat of wax + this works wonders:
3/15/2010 11:01:42 AM
air hose/water hose takes the cake.why are you fags talking about pollen fucking up your paint and shit. come on
3/15/2010 1:17:30 PM
Drag some pollen across your paint with a towel, you will see pollen fuck up paint. Ohh, look at all the nice new swirl marks.
3/15/2010 2:05:43 PM
well if you use the methods above there wont be any damage
3/15/2010 2:17:58 PM
Thats kinda what I have been saying the whole time.
3/15/2010 6:28:23 PM
You detail guys all come across as pricks, you are no different.
3/15/2010 8:37:55 PM
Huh? Giving advice on how to deal with pollen qualifies as being a prick? Guess I am guilty then.
3/15/2010 9:43:40 PM
although i will admit, i'm the guy who strapped a canoe to his roof with only some pipe insulation between the gunwales and the paint. what do i give a fuck about swirls in my paint?
3/15/2010 10:13:33 PM
started seeing bumblebees today, and if you look up in the pine trees you can see the little yellow buds forming...

4/3/2010 4:04:26 PM
the shit just hit this morning really. I woke up and my car was covered in tree jizz. Just for fun I wiped all the pollen off with a microfiber towel at around noon. A haze had already reformed less than two hours later. Car was parked.
4/5/2010 12:44:28 AM
Been laughing every time I see a washed car. Even my neighbors are washing all their cars at once and I just shake my head.
4/5/2010 8:17:39 AM
This is the worst pollen dump I've seen in years.
4/5/2010 8:18:36 AM
My car's been in the garage all wknd, so no pollen on her But I'm at work now, and she's sitting out there all exposed. Nooooooooooo
4/5/2010 8:26:34 AM
ARBOR BUKKAKE
4/5/2010 10:00:44 AM
when does this stop? i forget how long the pine trees splooge all over everything
4/5/2010 10:02:44 AM
just spend all day and shake all the trees in your area. lol
4/5/2010 10:45:39 AM
^^I think its really bad for 4-5 days, but is just bad for 3 weeks or so. It might depend somewhat on how often we get rain during this pollination period.
4/5/2010 11:16:37 AM
fucking rediculous. shit makes me want to cry. i had to use washer fluid on the way to work this morning; lose/lose situation there.
4/5/2010 1:17:59 PM
i used my windshield washer spray before leaving for lunch (with vehicle stationary). Once I pulled away 80% of the pollen blew off my car. Then when I got out of the car I noticed that all the overspray from the washer spray resulted in yellow polka dots all over the trunk and rear fenders.Won't be doing that again.FTL
4/5/2010 1:29:11 PM
i left my scooter outside for 30 minutes and it was covered...i can't even hose it off (well, i can, but i can't imagine that's very good for it)
4/5/2010 2:20:42 PM
i just hosed my car off the hell of it to see how long it takes for it to be covered again. amazing how much has came down in the past few days.
4/5/2010 2:28:39 PM
I just dry wipe the windshield with the wipers works perfectly fine without washer fluid
4/5/2010 3:20:05 PM
Mine has my special anti-static sealant on it, and even though its still a bit yellow, it looks tons better than other cars I have seen today. Most of it blows off when I drive away.
4/5/2010 3:34:05 PM
4/5/2010 4:57:41 PM
i think his car is black and i guess maybe the yellow over the black makes it look orange
4/5/2010 4:58:53 PM
hmm. my car is black too but still looks yellow. oh well. maybe his pine trees are sick
4/5/2010 5:03:09 PM
Tree skeet all over the place.
