Who got one? I always thought my dad's was cool, but I could never pull the trigger. Couldn't help the feeling that it was a waist of money.
3/7/2010 9:56:31 PM
Yeah, never got one.I'm not really a ring person...
3/7/2010 9:57:27 PM
i'm not a jewelry person, so i never got one.
3/7/2010 9:57:34 PM
I don't think I've ever worn a ring of any kind in my life
3/7/2010 9:58:46 PM
3/7/2010 9:59:32 PM
didn't get a high school ringdidn't get a college ring
3/7/2010 9:59:55 PM
I got one, and I wear it almost every day. However, it's the ring from the school I attended before NCSU. Oh, and
3/7/2010 10:00:25 PM
I have my high school ring dropped in the bottom of a box full of shitty old furniture wrenches and cheap watches.Needless to say, I do not own/want a college ring either.I kinda hate the NCSU Bookstores for pushing them so hard as well. They tried to make all the employees wear balfour t-shirts that tried to push the product. I'm glad the participation rate for that was really low, because fuck balfour.
3/7/2010 10:01:03 PM
i got both high school and college.i sold my high school ring when i bought my wedding band to save some cash. i figured my college ring would be a good keepsake later on down the road.
3/7/2010 10:02:33 PM
i got one and wear it daily
3/7/2010 10:02:59 PM
I have no clue of the whereabouts of my high school ring.
3/7/2010 10:22:11 PM
i have one, wore it for about a year afterwards. now it sits in a box
3/7/2010 10:24:10 PM
i really wanted one but there was no way to justify the cost... keep waiting to see if i will inherit my great grandfather's... really thought i would get it for graduation since we are the only two in my family who ever went to NCSU but no dice
3/7/2010 10:32:24 PM
I really don't like jewelry (don't even wear a watch) so even without considering the cost they just never appealed to me.
3/7/2010 10:37:45 PM
got a high school one, ended up selling it a few months ago to help with some billsdidn't get one for undergrad or grad schoolmaybe when I get my phd
3/7/2010 10:38:28 PM
grammar ninja attack!!1
3/7/2010 10:39:24 PM
where the hell are you all selling your high school rings, who buys those?
3/7/2010 10:41:42 PM
i think if it is made of gold then you can kind of "sell it for the parts"
3/7/2010 10:44:36 PM
^yepI went to a jeweler in the mall and sold it there
3/7/2010 10:49:25 PM
oh dag.... I would have been willing to give you one of those 'no interest... pay it back when you can' type of loans so you didn't have to sell your ring ]
3/7/2010 10:52:29 PM
3/7/2010 10:53:47 PM
i didn't get one. didn't want one. they're ugly and a
3/7/2010 10:55:45 PM
i didnt even go to my graduation. so no, i do not have a class ring.
3/7/2010 10:57:41 PM
if you had gone to your graduation you would have onethey give them out for free with your diploma
3/7/2010 11:02:35 PM
i bought a college ring my senior year on a whim when i happened to be at the bookstore during a half price sale -- very pleased with my purchase as i wear it nearly everydaythis was before the 'official' university rings were designated, so my ring is somewhat personal to my experience at state and i like it a lot -- ultimately was pretty expensive as my mom replaced it at full price+ when i accidently lost it traveling a few yrs ago...
3/7/2010 11:09:39 PM
my point was my graduation was not even important enough to go to. why would i wear a ring.

3/8/2010 12:18:03 AM
Pretty big waste of money. Bigger waste of money than high school class rings.
3/8/2010 12:19:15 AM
3/8/2010 12:34:31 AM
nah. not for HS or collegetoo much money, not enough want
3/8/2010 12:43:03 AM
I got a ring upon graduating, but it was my grandfather's, by way of my uncle. One of the best gifts I've ever gotten.
3/8/2010 12:59:12 AM
I considered getting one for State, but by my senior year they threw out most of the options for standardization and did everything they could to limit you to buying from one specific company (I assume so they'd get kickbacks) which had very few options. I think they made all the different ring companies out there pull their NC State designs off the market so that they could force you to be the generic ring with kickbacks, or nothing at all.I have a high school class ring in a drawer somewhere, and I probably would have paid a lot of money to have a State class ring in drawer somewhere if not for that policy. I don't know if said policy has changed since my senior year, but even being in grad school now I haven't looked into it again and probably wont because of that experience. Given the option of enhancing school pride or making more $, you know what they'll pick every time[Edited on March 8, 2010 at 1:49 AM. Reason : .]

mine doesn't even fit anymore. just sits in a box.
2/14/2014 10:58:36 AM
Waiste of money.
2/14/2014 11:02:02 AM
I never got one either. Mainly because I figured it would turn out just like my HS class ring. I'd wear it for about a month, then it would just end up in a drawer, then eventually lost.
2/14/2014 11:02:10 AM
Didn't get oneI just never cared much about wearing one. I thought it'd be a waist of money. I don't really regret not getting one. I think my parents offered to pay for it if I really wanted one...but i passedI did get a high school ring...which I wore for the remainder of my senior year in HS before never wearing again. I got one and wear it everyday. Its not my style to wear a lot of NCSU apparel, so I take a lot of pride in wearing the ring.I got the cheap stainless steel ring, but I'm still surprised how many people notice it and ask about it. Its always other Alumni.
2/14/2014 11:09:44 AM
My Mom bought mine as a gift and I wear it everyday (you can tell by the scratches). Mine is the old Championship style that they offered. The following year they went to the standard ring for everyone which I don't like as much.
2/14/2014 11:18:30 AM
Did not bought anything from HS to College for graduation. Did not care for it. Was focusing on graduating, get diplomas, get job, make $ and bang bitches. (jk. the last one is not happening.)[Edited on February 14, 2014 at 11:24 AM. Reason : s]

I got one and am proud of it. It's a nice token to give to a coed once you start going steady.
2/14/2014 12:10:01 PM
2/14/2014 2:28:13 PM
I got one as a keepsake. I don't think I ever wore it (don't like jewelry), but I kind of like having it there.
2/14/2014 3:15:38 PM
it amazes me that someone would pay $20,000-40,000 for a diploma and then keep it in the attic
2/14/2014 3:36:23 PM
I wear my Class of '82 TAMU ring regularly (had to re-size it once). They get pretty serious down there about ordering one: http://www.aggienetwork.com/ring/qualifications.aspx .
2/14/2014 5:41:11 PM
I got a high school and college ring. I have no idea where they are. I assume my mom has them somewhere. I don't like jewelry so I wouldn't wear them. I think of it as a trophy for completing college or something.
