I see there was a thread last year about this but it looks like it's dead, so I'm going to start a new one. I probably should take out an ad for this, but I'm going to post anyway in hopes that at least one person will donate a few dollars to the cause.Last year this time I was getting ready to undergo brain surgery and subsequently had to have my head shaved. This year I'm doing it voluntarily to raise money for childhood cancer research next Saturday, March 6. If anyone has a few extra dollars or feels like spreading the word to someone who does, I would appreciate all the support I can get. If you are at Napper Tandy's on Saturday stop by to say hi.http://www.stbaldricks.org/participants/zachhayes

excellent cause! We had over 500 people shave their heads at the Hibernian yesterday and raised over $200K. I, myself, am bald as can be right now. If you haven't done it before, you really should. Donate to Opstand or raise money for yourself. (and if you can't make it out to Nappertandy's next Saturday, I will be hosting a shaving event at the Hibernian in Cary starting at 1pm.)

Surpassed my goal of $1200 this morning with still 24 hours left. I'm pretty happy about that, I was hoping to hit at least $1000 but put my goal at $1200 to see what would happen. Sitting at $1295 right now

i did this two years ago for my cousin who had aml. after a relapse and a bone marrow transplant, he is thankfully cancer free now. it's a great cause, thanks for doing it!

The women that do this earn my respect right away. $1295 is wicked. I'm up to $570 and there's still a little more than two weeks to go.

I ended up with $1430 after a couple last second donations while in the chair. It was a good time, my team raised over $30k including one guy who got his first haircut in 20 years and raised over $11k alone.

I am doing this at Ruckus on March 21st. Last year I shaved the mohawk that i had been rocking. This year, I am shaving the beard. I have had the beard for over 10 years now. I do not know what i look like without facial hair, despite having pictures. I am frightened, but fuck it, i don't have cancer. I don't really have shit to be frightened about. If you can or would like to donate. http://www.stbaldricks.org/participants/mypage/participantid/394895
