Crispin Glover, John Cusack, Lizzy Caplan, Chevy Chase, Rob Corddry, Clark Duke, Craig Robinson

Looks like it'll be pretty funny.

Amazing movie, in my opinion. I thought it was going to be retarded, but I had a free ticket so I watched it, definitely would have been worth paying to see.

This looks like tropic thunder in terms of looking really really bad from the previews but being fucking hilarious when you actually see it.

I think I would watch this, but I wouldn't pay to. I'll wait until it comes to HBO. I feel like I already know the jokes going on. Not that that's a bad thing--the same could be said of Judd Apatow's best comedies, and they work.

Roger Ebert had this douchebaggery to offer:

"extends John Cusack's remarkable run: Since 1983, in 55 films, he's never made a bad one"

Fuck you, Roger Ebert. Sincerely. I offer these as my premises for refutation:

etc.

I took it directly from metacritic.com

I guess they must've misquoted.

roger ebert is a columnist for the chicago sun times. I would take http://rogerebert.suntimes.com to be the authority on this matter, not its NW indiana subsidiary.

You're probably right. Just showing that I didn't make it up. Someone else must've misquoted somewhere along the line. I don't feel like that makes me a tool.

well, when you say something like "fuck you roger ebert" it hurts my feelings, because he's a cool dude and my favorite critic.... that's all. to bring this back on topic, I'm seeing it tonight and have luke warm to favorable expectations.

Fair enough...I just feel like he gives EVERYTHING a good review. I don't really have a beef with him, though; I just thought that quote as I saw it was silly.

he murdered armageddon:
Quote :
"Characters in this movie actually say: ``I wanted to say ... that I'm sorry,'' ``We're not leaving them behind!,'' ``Guys--the clock is ticking!'' and ``This has turned into a surrealistic nightmare!'' Steve Buscemi, a crew member who is diagnosed with ``space dementia,'' looks at the asteroid's surface and adds, ``This place is like Dr. Seuss' worst nightmare.'' Quick--which Seuss book is he thinking of? There are several Red Digital Readout scenes, in which bombs tick down to zero. Do bomb designers do that for the convenience of interested onlookers who happen to be standing next to a bomb? There's even a retread of the classic scene where they're trying to disconnect the timer, and they have to decide whether to cut the red wire or the blue wire. The movie has forgotten that *this is not a terrorist bomb,* but a standard-issue U.S. military bomb, being defused by a military guy who is on board specifically because he knows about this bomb. A guy like that, the first thing he should know is, red or blue?"

i don't think the people that are saying Con-Air is awesome have watched it in the last 5 years

it didn't age well

one of Nicolas Cage's unintentionally finest moments, from a comedy standpoint

i liked it alot more than i liked The Hangover which everyone seemed to have a hard on for...it wasn't great or even something i'd watch too many extra times but it never lost my attention and there were no slow parts except maybe for lizzy caplan scenes (blasphemy?)

i was waiting for crispin glover to do something a little more badass

seriously?

I mean, nowadays he basically likes 90% of the films he watches

he's become rather uncritical, considering his profession
