NOTE: Car is in Asheville, not Raleigh. For Sale - 1996 Subaru Legacy L AWD, 2.2L engine, 121,000 miles. I purchased it in 2005 with roughly 80k miles. $2,000 OBO5 speed manual transmission Power windows & door locks Non-power seats AF/FM/Stereo Has cruise but it hasn't worked since I've owned the car. Maybe you can fix it? The car runs pretty good, I recently replaced the spark plugs, wires and fuel filter. While I've had the car I've put 1 new set of tires on it and replaced both front CV axles (and joints). The previous owner had some work done (rear main seal, off the top of my head) - I can provide records of most of the maintenance/repair work done. Battery has been replaced recently too. Tires probably have 20,000 miles on them now, so they should have easily another 20k-30k miles left before needing to be replaced. Overall the Legacy is pretty mechanically sound. There is a small oil leak, but if you research Subarus that is pretty typical with these motors, and they'll last well over 200k with the same oil leak. I usually top off the oil with 1 quart between regular oil changes. Precision Tune on Biltmore Ave. verbally quoted me $250 to replace the gasket. Where the car lacks is cosmetically. The paint had some chips on the roof when I bought it, which over time enlarged so I sanded all of the paint off the roof and painted it back with flat black Rustoleum. There are a few dings and dents here and there. If you wanted the car to look like new, you could easily do the cheap paint & body service at a Maaco or somewhere similar and get out the door for under $500 or so. Blue Book value for "FAIR" condition is $2,440. I've dropped the price considering the paint & body condition (even though the FAIR value takes this into some consideration already) and for a quick sale. PM me with with any questions or for photos. Overall this car has been great to me for the last 4.5 years. I've taken it on four 700+ mile weekend trips in the last year and it has given me no problems. I am only selling b/c I just upgraded to a '05 Subaru. This car would be great for errands, for a student (perfect cheap first car) or for a daily driver. Gets about 23-25 mpg around town, and 28-32 on the highway. KBB Fair Condition Description: Some mechanical or cosmetic defects and needs servicing but is still in reasonable running condition. Clean title history, the paint, body and/or interior need work performed by a professional. Tires may need to be replaced. There may be some repairable rust damage.$2,000 OBO[Edited on February 22, 2010 at 12:44 PM. Reason : price!]

Pics added in my gallery. Let me know if you want to see more, these are blackberry photos i took this morning.as you can see, it's a wierd taupe/mauve/gray/purplish color. if i were to repaint it i'd just go back with a dark silver or gray. the cloth interior more or less matches the exterior.[Edited on February 23, 2010 at 7:42 AM.
