duuuuuuuuuuuude
2/12/2010 3:28:40 PM
IOC made them take the video down.
2/12/2010 3:28:43 PM
This is horrible, but I find the complaints for total safety a little odd from people who have agreed to ride on a sled at 90 MPH, head-first, with very little protection.
2/12/2010 3:35:01 PM
Yeah they took down the video

^? while this is a tragedy I applaud Canada for building the baddest track around. This ain't the local sledding hill, this is meant for the best in the world. If you don't feel you're the best and would like to relinquish your chance to prove it please pack up and go home.[Edited on February 12, 2010 at 3:37 PM. Reason : ?]

Goodnight, Sweet Prince.
2/12/2010 4:04:10 PM
fuck me. just watched the video. absolutely horrific. brutal. undoubtedly he died instantly. seems kind of dumb to have medal posts lining the track like that without some sort of netting.
2/12/2010 4:06:06 PM
Any netting tight enough to catch someone there would cause almost as much damage.
2/12/2010 4:13:48 PM
they could enclose the top of the track with a smooth gerbil tube like covering thing that would at least keep his momentum directed down the course. That said, hindsight is 20/20...

Can't believe BubbleBobble would "k" this thread. What a chunk of human shit.
2/12/2010 4:34:56 PM
As I suspected, the "Blame Canada" crowd has already started crowing about how Canada limited training time on the track in the lead-up to the games.
2/12/2010 4:39:10 PM
All of the videos have been yanked.

2/12/2010 4:47:39 PM
^^ It is called "being human".
2/12/2010 4:49:11 PM
it's called being sick, dude.if i'd seen it live that's one thing, but googling your fingers off to watch a video of someone's death is sick.
2/12/2010 4:50:02 PM
^not really...it depends on the circumstances. after watching this video there was nothing gory about it.On that note, its no different than people googling their fingers off to watch Saddam's hanging.
2/12/2010 4:51:14 PM
2/12/2010 4:51:44 PM
It's human nature to be curious, yes, and that understandably occurs when people are stuck in traffic next to an accident or when a fight breaks out in high school.Actively seeking out footage of someone's death is a completely different matter.
2/12/2010 4:52:17 PM
This really is a shame.and yeah, I agree with you d7freestyler. No one needs to actively search out this video in order to see this shit.]
