It only happens when I apply pressure to the accelerator. The sound is coming from the rear, sounds like the right side if I had to choose a side. It's like a hum that rises in pitch at higher speeds, the most annoying speed being about 65 mph.

What could be causing this? I am still under warranty for about 8k more miles

just got new brakes over a month ago (rear brakes and calipers), and the noise was there before the brake change ... so maybe either of the first 2 things

sounds like a free trip to ford.

but they might blame it on who ever did the brakes.

then why even bother with figuring anything out...? demand it to be fixed, period. that's the luxury/beauty of a warranty, not having to worry about this kind of crap.

[Edited on February 3, 2010 at 6:53 PM. Reason : if you're just curious to know what it was, ask the dealership when it's fixed.]
