Julius Mays and CJ WilliamsHonorable mention: 2003 (MO'D..but Tony Bethel transferring in saved that class)
1/27/2010 9:41:57 AM
Didn't we end up with Dennis Horner and Dennis Horner alone from our class whenever Sendeck left? That has to be rock bottom[Edited on January 27, 2010 at 9:45 AM. Reason : oh we got Bartoz too...my point stil stands]
1/27/2010 9:45:14 AM
where are all the carpetbagging backtrackers at now?
1/27/2010 9:47:07 AM
yeah, but Horner's class was a good class i mean, you got a dude with a National Championship ring and a dude who's starting PG for the #11 team in the nation
1/27/2010 9:56:19 AM
^horner's class was horner, larry davis (who went to seton hall and i think eventually transferred), and dan werner. chris wright would have been in the next class.
1/27/2010 10:37:03 AM
at least horner can only suck at one positionmays and williams kills us at guard. the second one of javi or degand comes out our offense disintegrates[Edited on January 27, 2010 at 11:50 AM. Reason : ]
1/27/2010 11:50:22 AM
You said "our" in the thread title. Anyone with sense knows you disassociated yourself from NC State athletics when Herb ran away. But that doesn't change that fact that the 2008 class is on par with 2003's "class."[Edited on January 27, 2010 at 11:54 AM. Reason : ]
1/27/2010 11:53:56 AM
i am an ignorant fucki apologize to my loyal followers for letting you down. i'll tighten it up
1/27/2010 11:54:05 AM
The class that was just Horner was/is the worst. Mays and CJ still have a couple of years to possibly get better. Horner is just a liability.
1/27/2010 3:11:10 PM
i'd say Horner is better than CJ and Julius combinedand that's saying a whole lot
1/27/2010 6:03:57 PM
^meh, no not really. CJ just seems like he cant get a grip on the pace of ACC games and Im not so sure on his future. But Mays has potential and can get into a nice scoring rhythm already against ACC teams- Javi struggled like that in his 2nd year, but turned into a decent PG this year.... I think by the time he is a senior, we can win with him in the 2 PG set-kinda like Degand is for us this year (only with brown, howell, wood, harrow, cothron, +)
1/27/2010 6:44:07 PM
mays can shoot free throws and make floaters/mid range jumpers when he isn't in turtle mode (which is only 5% of his playing time)horner can kind of shoot and kind of dribblewilliams cant do anythingI dont agree because Horner is the anti-clutch but I can see the argument
1/27/2010 6:56:07 PM
do you think horner screams flame on every time he shoots to ignite his awesome tat and improve his skills?
1/27/2010 8:00:58 PM
Maybe you should try screaming something to improve your postsBecause that shit was weak
1/27/2010 8:04:06 PM
^so is that a no then?
1/27/2010 8:09:01 PM
Didn't CJ have some impressive performances last summer in the PanAm games? And last year he had some solid games and shot well from the arc during limited minutes, even had a 4 game stretch during ACC play where he scored 10+ in 3 of 4 games. I thought he had some potential to be a good role player and team leader... but other than a few nice slashes, he hasn't done much of anything this year. Hopefully he'll step it up.Mays is a deadly FT shooter. He'd be first in the conference with his .891%, but he hasn't made it to the line enough during ACC play. He's made 49/55. He can shoot 3s too, he hit 13/29 last year, and he's shooting .314 from 3 this year. But he always looks a half-step slow and can't draw a foul.Horner... he's a great shooter, every few games. I think he deserves to start. He's a senior, he stuck with us, and he's played well in some games. We need mins from him this year. But I hope Howell gets more of his min.
1/27/2010 8:15:10 PM
Horners class was the worst (did degand transfer this year?). CJ and Mays are in sophomore slumps.
1/27/2010 9:10:17 PM
^(Degand didn't come in w/ Horner)
1/27/2010 9:18:52 PM
1/27/2010 10:24:42 PM
Dude Horner is terrible because he offers jack shit on defense and rebounding and he constantly gets beat by his man after NC State makes a shot. He is a huge liability out there. If we could combine Horner's somewhat useful offensive skills and Davis's energy/defense, we'd have a decent 6th man.
1/28/2010 8:14:14 AM
this may belong in the credibility thread, but isn't it amazing that after having been hired shortly after the end of the 2005-06 season, Sid still hasn't been able to bring in a few serviceable forwardsa good recruiter, which I thought he was, would not have to rely on Horner so much. a good recruiter would have a stable of forwards who are as good or better than this Horner guy who you hate so much
1/28/2010 9:17:26 AM
Smith, Hickson, Howell, Painter... Cothron. (yeah, i know smith and painter are centers)That ain't bad. And Costner left early.
1/28/2010 10:02:07 AM
don't forget Wood,he oughta count as a SF [Edited on January 28, 2010 at 10:06 AM. Reason : a]
1/28/2010 10:05:09 AM
^^ i'm talking about this team/this year there is nobody on the bench who's better than Horner at that position.and doesn't that ultimately fall on Sid?[Edited on January 28, 2010 at 10:06 AM. Reason : 6]
1/28/2010 10:06:13 AM
ok you're right.fire him, and rick barnes will be beating down our door to get in.
1/28/2010 10:06:55 AM
pretty lame argument
1/28/2010 10:10:22 AM
so is any argument that we can get any coach who will have us back in the tourney in a year or two. We're getting better year over year under lowe. It's slower than anyone would like, but the progress is there.just be fucking patient and we'll get there.
1/28/2010 10:12:17 AM
I thought programs are supposed to be built overnight!1111 FIRE SID
1/28/2010 10:13:24 AM
well, let's discuss it thenwho, on the 2009-10 roster, should get Horner's minutes?
1/28/2010 10:13:57 AM
1/28/2010 10:18:13 AM
^^ It has been argued many other times that Howell deserves Horner's minutes. I agree. Our standard lineup should be:JaviDegandSmith HowellWoodHorner should come into relieve Howell or Wood, but should not get starters minutes because he is too much of a liability on defense.[Edited on January 28, 2010 at 10:20 AM. 1/28/2010 10:19:35 AM
so Horner is our premier, #1 best option off the bench for two different positions?
1/28/2010 10:38:59 AM
premier, #1 best option?
1/28/2010 10:49:40 AM
is he?what i'm gathering is that after 3 years and 9 months on the job, Lowe's #1 best option, off the bench, to play the 3 position AND/OR the 4 position, is Dennis Horner. there is not a single other person, on the 2009-10 roster who would make a better 6th man? the first week in May will mark Sid's 4th year
1/28/2010 10:54:12 AM
What is your point?Other than being a douche.
1/28/2010 10:55:05 AM
just pointing out that Sid should have at least one good forward on this years roster from the 2006-07, 2007-08 or 2008-09 recruiting classes
1/28/2010 10:59:06 AM
not one of your best attempts
1/28/2010 11:02:07 AM
he went pro already
1/28/2010 11:02:13 AM
Horner is a senior, mis-match(AT TIMES) and has his random times when he can shoot.Howell is a freshmen who is out of shape.that being said I HATE HORNER WITH A PASSION.I think and hope that Howell gets his minutes from here on out, I Beleive he will, Howell seems to get into foul trouble alot though. but thats better than getting beat all the time like Horner, I cant STAND that kid.hahahaha at tke, the good forward went to the NBA[Edited on January 28, 2010 at 11:09 AM. 1/28/2010 11:08:19 AM
Johnny Thomas would probably doing well know if his knee had not exploded.

1/28/2010 11:15:48 AM
Hey ncstatetke,I've been chatting it up online with this chick in California over the past month, and things are going REALLY well. The only problem is she's all the way over there, so I'm having trouble getting any. Could you maybe give her some pointers on how to blow me via internet message board?...cuz you seem to have gotten really good at it with Herb over the past year. But seriously, why don't you just drop the $5 for username herbsendektke?...At least then everyone would know what you were about.[Edited on January 28, 2010 at 11:24 AM. Reason : V Lol. Knew you were going to say something about that. ]
1/28/2010 11:21:46 AM
This guy has 5 years with an internship, 2 degrees, and a job waiting upon graduation to show for it, so go fuck yourself, ncstatetke.
1/28/2010 11:23:45 AM
I don't know much about this team out in the desert, so I'd like to seek the council of our resident ASU expert, tke. Where would our premier, #1 best option off the bench be located on the depth chart if he had followed one Herb Sendek on his trek cross country?
1/28/2010 1:22:54 PM
I think if NC State played ASU on a neutral court right now, State would win. So yeah Herb is a god and Lowe is garbage
1/28/2010 1:39:35 PM
so we're all rationally debating the merits (mostly lack thereof) of at least 2 of 4 Lowe recruiting classes being the worst in the last 25 years (1 of which was essentially given away by fowlup) and yet there's a 120+ credibility page thread?I understand we SHOULD have serviceable 3 and 4's but we've whiffed until now. Howell is pretty good for a freshman, Davis is gonna workout i think. Painter will come around, he's raw. We should be able to address the Guard situation with the next class for the foreseeable future though. I have a feeling Wood would move to 3 next year (he's already playing there alot now) because he's a great defender and guards most other team's 3 anyway
1/28/2010 1:45:42 PM
^ Um, Wood has been starting and playing at the 3 all year.
1/28/2010 1:49:57 PM
Wood is not a great defender, not even closeHe's just not horrendous, which makes him look great compared to most white players
1/28/2010 1:56:21 PM
wow. so much to respond to, so little time
1/28/2010 4:42:39 PM
i don't want anything of importance to be stuck at post #49so, set em up
