1/20/2010 2:39:23 PM
i see nothing but headgasket woes for anything with a subaru 2.5L
1/20/2010 2:56:09 PM
mehdepends on your driving styledon't rev it like a honda and you should be fine
1/20/2010 3:00:42 PM
^^ I bet that is a pain to replace on the boxer engine. I haven't heard of any mass head gasket failures though.[Edited on January 20, 2010 at 3:01 PM. Reason : l]

1/20/2010 4:58:24 PM
Im sure i could get the rainbow and Hope stickers sandblasted off.
1/20/2010 5:06:32 PM
hahaha
1/20/2010 5:10:37 PM
The rainbow logo comes painted on from the factory.I think AWD would be a waste around here. Just more weight to lug around and more CV joints to break.

I used to work with a lesbian who drove a 90s Legacy wagon. With Subarus you either get the weirdos/homosexuals or the younger tuners.

just do your research, have the car inspected somewhere of your choosing (yes, you will have to pay for it, but it's a small price to pay for peace of mind), and drive what you likefuck everybody else
1/21/2010 9:11:35 AM
AND HOW!
1/21/2010 9:18:35 AM
I just want something very practical and alla round, I want space, 4wd/awd decent gas milage, and reliable for cheap.i figure this or a crv any other suggestions.
1/21/2010 9:22:56 AM
i had a cr-v and would probably choose a forester over that, simply for subaru's awd toughnessrough and tough drivetraini've never seen a cr-v at a rally event either
1/21/2010 9:28:28 AM
^ Are CR-V's allowed? I would have thought they would be too SUVish?
1/21/2010 10:38:28 AM
^^^look at a Legacy wagon then.[Edited on January 21, 2010 at 10:52 AM. Reason : uargh]

You know, if more people ignored the stigma attached to certain vehicles and just bought what they liked the stigma would probably cease to exist in a relatively short period of time. Foresters are nice vehicles. If you like it more than it's competitors and the price is right then go for it.[Edited on January 21, 2010 at 10:52 AM. Reason : s]

first gen cr-v gets 20mpg around town. 26 on the highway. its painfully slow (126hp) and I dont know how much i trust the drivetrain. i gave it to my brother. he might sell it to you .
1/21/2010 10:53:07 AM
you can pretty much bring what you have outi've never seen anyone denied the right to TRY out their vehicle on a rallyX course (in my 2 yrs so far)you can drive as sanely or insanely as you see fit, it's your car / insurancebut if you're not driving safely, you will probably get asked to leave

Good cars, I work at a subaru shop and I see them all the time. There are a handful of head gasket failures, but it is not a hard fix, you can yank the engine in about 30 minutes if you are used to it. if you can find it XT (turbo) are a nice choice if you can find them.My sister has two of them (foresters) never had a problem with them, my parents just got a 09 and both my wife and I have WRXs (well hers is a Saab 9-2 but same thing).PM me if you have any specific questions.

I just bought a 2010 Forester since I need a car with some ability to get through sand and snow. Seemed like the best option of the small SUV crowd.
