booker is a far more versatile player than tracy smith. not saying tracy cant become one, but Booker can take people off the dribble at the top of the key and drive to the hoop. I have yet to see Tracy do that. plus, Booker is a far superior finisher around the basket than tracy.

The only thing I am somewhat sure of is that I don't think we lose by as much as UNC did.

This game represents a bad matchup for us. Clemson's full court press versus our weak ball handling plus Clemson has the size to shut down Smith and ball hawk on Wood. We'll need Javi and Degand to break the press and pentrate in the lanes if we are going to have any success on offense.

On defense, we need to play smart and box out. Can't let Clemson have a bunch of second chance points. Horner's slow feet are going to hurt us in this game. Oh yeah and we need to hit our FTs as always. I say we lose by ~10.

I'm thinking we stand a very good chance. Clemson's biggest weapon against UNC, besides UNC's terrible shooting, was their turnover margin. I feel like State plays too slow to cause as many turnovers as UNC. Ball control ftw! Anyone else think Lowe still tries to run an offense like there is no shot clock like back in '83?

Javi limiting turnovers and easy scores.
Tracy making his shots(especially free throws) down low and getting fouled without fouling out.
and possible the most important...Scott Wood to create a good inside out game with Tracy for a kick and shoot or dump down inside out game.

if all three play well, we win.

I'd argue that we need everyone to play well. Javi can't play the entire game, so Farnold and Julius need to be learning how to break Clemson's press. Our bigs need to learn how to box out Clemson's decent front line players. And our wings better get out on Noel Johnson and Tanner Smith so that they don't light our butts up from outside. While yes our success against Clemson will depend on those three, we can't have the others not do their part either. This is a pretty good Clemson team that could finish 2nd in the ACC regular season this year.

I'm gonna step outside the box and say if CJ plays some good basketball and scores 10+ points, we win. Dude has GOT to get better to really give us a chance down the stretch. Farnold can't handle the SG load alone.
