1/6/2010 3:22:57 PM
^ LOL--they should do something like that. The tower will turn red when the new chancellor is installed, though.
1/6/2010 3:26:39 PM
LOL yeah. He'll (maybe She'll) have the scepter and everything. God I hope it's someone damn amazing. And please, CLEAN HOUSE. I'll say it again. CLEAN HOUSE.
1/6/2010 4:41:00 PM

1/6/2010 5:02:46 PM
I'm not expressing an opinion either way, but why Fowler, Stafford, and Cousins? I don't really know much about them.[Edited on January 6, 2010 at 7:20 PM. Reason : ]
1/6/2010 7:19:26 PM

1/6/2010 8:07:27 PM
^^I'd take Chuck as the new defensive coordinator. I'd also take Mary Anne Fox as the new defensive coordinator.
1/6/2010 9:24:45 PM
So much for transparency in the wake of scandal. I guess we can expect more of the same bullshit from the university administration as usual.

1/6/2010 10:01:11 PM
I don't know much about this guy, or the other candidates that were available. But when I came across Purdue's student newspaper, it looks like every other article that mentions him has him talking about the need for increased diversity.http://www.purdueexponent.org/?module=article&story_id=10443
1/6/2010 10:28:11 PM
I really don't want Bowles to be the one with all the voting power.

Randy does't sound very chancellor like
1/7/2010 4:39:50 AM
That's Randy Wood, Son to you.
1/7/2010 4:45:37 AM
I don't know much about this guy, but if he can make State's academic reputation similar to Purdue 's than this could be a good move.
1/7/2010 6:43:40 AM
Raaaaaaandy!

1/7/2010 10:13:21 AM
^^ LOL!
1/7/2010 10:53:41 AM
tom stafford is the vice chancellor of student affairs, which covers everything from rotc, student gov, multicultural organizations, student orgs, arts nc state, student conduct, etc. nothing to do with financial aid or stafford loans which is a federal student aid program. I kinda like the idea of having mary anne fox back, i dont think shes in the running though. I feel like we are loosing out a bit of the UNC board of govenors is more invovled in this than in the past because of the recent controversy, but i trust them to find someone capable.
1/7/2010 3:08:24 PM
I see no need to clean house, i think we have a great research university especially with everything going on at centennial campus. Also its not like a college football coaching staff where someone new brings in whoever they want. Granted people who work for the chancellors office might get cut and the new person can bring in folks there. They can't go appointing whoever they want to AD, provost, vice chancellor positions as all of those positions have to be approved by BOT and BOG. If we cleaned house there'd be more comittees to make more searches and spend more tax dollars.
1/7/2010 3:13:38 PM
^^ Stafford has been here much too long--about 30 years, I think. Student Affairs needs new ideas and new leadership.
1/7/2010 4:37:42 PM
am i the only person that really doesnt give a shit which puppet is sittin in that office?I mean i cant be the only person that feels this is completely irrelevant
1/7/2010 4:46:19 PM
^ Good point.
1/7/2010 5:07:28 PM
^^I care. I mean, what if it turns out to be Lee Fowler's ole fishing buddy? We'd have to move him to a bigger office to make room for all the Excellent Award for Outstanding Excellence awards. Then our academics would steadily fall in the rankings but all our buildings would be PAR EXCELLENCE.[Edited on January 8, 2010 at 8:14 AM. Reason : -]

Its official.
1/8/2010 10:50:31 AM
1/8/2010 2:53:54 PM
Seems that way, but it's hardly unexpected or surprising that a chancellor would be overpaid. Just for reference, what have our past chancellors made?
1/8/2010 3:42:03 PM
Isn't that how much the president makes?
1/8/2010 3:44:19 PM
ma fox is paid $392,200 at ucsd
1/8/2010 4:05:57 PM
^^ LOL--it's more.
1/8/2010 4:06:12 PM
meet the new bosssame as the old boss
1/8/2010 4:11:54 PM
already aged 20 years and only 1 day on the job
1/8/2010 5:27:20 PM
The search for a new chancellor at N.C. State should have been conducted more openly, given the reason that the position was vacant (corruption).http://www.popecenter.org/clarion_call/article.html?id=2290Some interesting points regarding the selection process.
1/13/2010 8:51:04 PM
He could have coke parties with whores and trannies in Holladay Hall all day -- just as long as he fires Lee Fowler, I don't give a shit.

http://www.newsobserver.com/102/story/288759.htmlI didn't know which thread to stick this in, but it's just some background on Woodson.
1/19/2010 10:15:49 AM
Although I still don't like the lack of transparency in the UNC system's process, in this case I'm liking the outcome. Everything I'm reading about him seems like it'll be a positive change.I guess the only thing that could be worrisome is his lack of experience (OMGOBAMA), given that he was only provost for 18 months before taking our chancellor's position. But ultimately, it'll be better then the good 'ol boy network that we'd had at state for years. In retrospect, MAF wasn't so bad after all.
1/19/2010 10:22:22 AM
the chancellor is a homebrewer, eh That might be the best news you lil students could get as far as loosening your leashes.not that theres any students left on this board.[Edited on January 19, 2010 at 12:43 PM. Reason : lol ]
