I have some old WWII stuff that my grandfather passed down to me that i really have no interest in. One of which is a spotting scope or mounted binocular from nazi germany. I was told that it was at one time mounted on top of a tank or something. There is nazi markings on the piece and it is in amazing condition. Optics are great, all controls seem to be working properly. So far, I cant find anything online that looks like the scope. Anyone on here into this kinda thing or know where I might find the value of such an item?and yes, I am working on getting a photo

generally, stuff with nazi insignia like swastikas and stuff fetches a pretty penny. germany tried pretty hard to destroy anything with those symbols on it.

My former boss is a WWII expert, and often sells his items on ebay. He's looked at many items that have come to him by others and helped price them from big items like uniforms to the small like playing cards. If you give me a photo, I can send it to him for more specifics and get back to you on what it is and how much it would go for.

^^yea it was a guess based on your statement that it was mounted on top a tank (which was more than likely an AA Panzer)... as far as I can tell that is the only ebay auction going on at this time for this particular set of binocs, but according to this guy they pop up all the time on ebay:http://www.cloudynights.com/item.php?item_id=196[Edited on December 30, 2009 at 6:26 PM. I'd go to one of the military antiques shows that comes around to the same locations as the regular gun shows or get a buddy who's into it to take it with him there and ask around a lot. Also, I pass a huge billboard in CLT on my way from work that's got a phone number for people selling military collectibles. I'll see if I can catch it tomorrow.
