Friend brought this to me, researching still but noluck yet.Her thinkpad screen has acquired a red tint to it, and lately has been fading out, resetting the screen with hotkeys will work, but will happen again. Any ideas? I poped the keyboard last night and checked on the connections accessable via that, no luck. Ill probably take the whole thing apart tonight or tomorrow and check everything else.

Poor inverter perhaps? Easy to check if you have access to another thinkpad w/ a same size lcd screen and etc. The lcd screen is a unscrew and d/c job so nothing fancy. Just make sure you don't break the bezel when popping it out.[Edited on December 22, 2009 at 9:22 PM. Reason : /]

Yeah. If it's the screen use http://www.blisscomputers.net/My sister dropped her laptop a few weeks ago and cracked the screen. Sony wanted $699 to repair. Replacement screen from Sony was 250 and DIY. I ordered one from blisscomputers.net for like $68 + shipping and had it fixed within a week. Also, you can use bliss5off for $5 off.P.S. I'm in no way affiliated with Bliss Comp. Just letting you know.
