Yeah, same as last year.... like when the Patriots were 11-5 and arguably the best team in football.

Not with Matt Cassel, no one was making that argument

I want to say that this happens every year...but it really has been a crazy fucking year. You've got teams like the Steelers and the Giants who everyone thought were two of the best teams in the league the first 5 or 6 weeks...now they are struggling to make the playoffs. The Broncos started off 6-0, and they still have a really good shot to miss the playoffs. Of course we all know about the Chargers. Niners and Falcons started off well and won't make the playoffs...same goes for the Texans and Jets (don't think they'll make it). Ravens looked dead in the water 6 weeks ago, now they're likely in. We had the two undefeateds for so long. Patriots all over the place. 8 million 7-7 teams with two weeks to play.Just seems like this year has been EXTRA crazy.

I disagreeThe Colts are the best team of the 8, but I think the Cowboys, Eagles, and Giants are 2-3-4

The NFC East is def talent loaded but the teams are so erratic each year. One week any of those teams can look like super bowl contenders, then the next week look like garbage. I like the Eagles this year with what they got on offense, but the Giants have major issues even though they looked sharp last night(or the 'Skins are just that bad and this could certainly be the case), and the Cowboys are a poorly coached team in my opinion so I have trouble buying into them ever unless that part changes. Miles Austin has been a savior for them Roy Williams is a joke. At least 2 or 3 of the current 7-7 teams(Miami, Steelers, Titans, hell even the Jags) in the AFC that aren't going to get in are better than whoever gets left out of the NFC East this year, whether it is the Giants or Cowboys.

obviously the steelers have talent on their team, but any team who loses to the chiefs, raiders, & browns doesn't belong in the conversation of "best anything"

all of the AFC south teams have a chance to end with .500+that's the hardest division in footyball, sir.

No he is saying that without Peyton the AFC South is just mediocre at best. When have the Jaguars or Texans been consistently good other than the start of this season? The Titans were a wash for a while and had a good surge last year and late this season. I definitely believe the NFC East is one of the most competitive divisions, and followed closely by the NFC South (moreso last season than this).
12/23/2009 9:58:26 AM
^Exactly. Regardless, no one can deny that any head to head game between any two NFC East teams is better than any other random inter-divisional match up you could get.

The Rams looked really good to me this year. They really showed me a lot down the stretch. I've seen nearly all of their games this year (I think I missed a couple of preseason games and like one early regular season game). They have all the pieces in place to be a dynasty for years to come, but they need to grow into it still. They will mature with time. They also didn't benefit from a lot of bad calls from the refs this season and several bad calls that completely shifted moment away from the Rams in what looked like sure victories. Marc Bulger threw several passes this year that would just make a grown man's dick get hard.[Edited on December 23, 2009 at 5:14 PM. Reason : []

But the AFC south does have Manning. Dumb logicbut he's right. NFC East is the best.

Cleveland Browns. W/o a doubt. They had the best punter in the league, until he got injured. Zastudil is now a household name. Did you see how he single-handedly beat Buffalo earlier this year? And, they've had all their success this year w/o even having to trade for Lebron James. I'm just saying...
