How should I respond/ what should I do, in response to seeing my job posted on craigslist?

is your job big enough to require two people? if so, maybe they're just hiring an additional person.if not, it may be time to start looking for another job of your own...

You should send them your resume.Seriously, hopefully it's what ^ said that they want an additional person. Otherwise, it definitely sucks. I guess the question is do you feel comfortable asking your boss about it.Also, if you're looking at jobs on craigslist you may not be that happy with your job anyway.[Edited on December 20, 2009 at 10:17 AM. yeah you're in a catch22 therebut you could just say really loud "god i love this job, i don't know what i'd do without you guys, i mean...i'd probably take you all out in a blaze of glory if anything were to happen to my job"

Simple answer: do nothing. If you bring it up, your employer will know you were hunting for another job, only making it easier for them to let you go.

Do you like where you work? How long have you been there? If you're 99% certain that's your position they posted and that they only need one person doing it, then as a precaution I'd start applying for other jobs. You never know if you find something that's better for you and offers you more $$, experience, and better benefits.Personally, I don't like confrontation so I'd probably not say anything. But it could be a big advantage for you if you quickly ask if they're looking for other people. They'll tell you the truth so you can stop worrying about getting the boot unexpectedly.

It wouldn't be a stretch to think that a friend saw it and forwarded it on...

fabricate a false identity (or use a friend) and apply for the job and ask questions about the position.

Just to updateI was fired today because he didn't feel it was working out. Quote " it is personally insulting when you are the manager and don't show up to the staff Christmas party" My division was the only one up this year, and we were up 22% on average. Another was down 47% but i get fired because I hurt his feelings.

^^ some states have laws that say if you are "laid off" as in the employer tells you they are cutting back on your position, they are not allowed to rehire that position for at least 6 months

That probably will not work.
