It seems to me that most people just type in junk for the 'reason for edit' box, so why not get rid of it completely, or at least make it optional?

Good point, but the server should automatically attach "Post Edited at xx.xx" (without asking for a reason, or making it optional) so that others know that the post was edited.

How about instead dropping the "30 minute window"...Ive never understood the point of this, unless its just to say that after 30 minutes you "cant take it back".

Ive yet to see another message board with this kind of limit. But then again, I guess the other message boards I read dont have the level of immaturity that graces the threads of this site that would require a time limit such as this.
I guess some people actually can change the topic because they make the topic "What would you do if...", or "I was thinking..." and then finish it off in the post. Ive never understood this (since the title means absolutely nothing then). Regardless, if the thread is worth reading, then it wont matter...its only topics like "Do you bone?" and "Whos drunk? I am" threads where it might make a difference. Besides, if were not supposed to take tww seriously (as Ive heard many many times), why would it matter what they did? Its all a joke, right?

I agree they should automatically insert 'Edited ...'. I'm a lazy person though, and the time it takes to move to the edit reason line is too much, especially just to type '.'
