That, too, but I didn't include the Monty Python stuff because it was more of a group effort, whereas the stuff I referenced are strictly Gilliam films.

We had to watch this in my Time Travel class. Very interesting movie. Although I can't remember if its actually plausible or not...I don't believe it was.

I watched 12 Monkeys again over Thanksgiving break. Definitely one of my favorites.

I liked tideland a good bit. 12 Monkeys, Fisher King, and Time Bandits were all good. I never really got on board the Monty Python boat. I get why people like it, I just don't care for it that much.Brazil was good, but I always felt like I was "watching a well acclaimed film" instead of being fully immersed... if that makes sense. Maybe I need to give it another watch.

***SPOILER****I really think the end of the world will be like they do in the movie. Releasing a deadly airborn contagious virus into a major international airport. It would be almost impossible to contain when you consider the sheer amount of people that you would initially infect and then they would fly off all over the world infecting tons of people along the way. There is no way in hell you could quarantine that many people in so many locations.

sure there is. shut down every airport in the world, shoot down any planes still in the sky, quarantine cities with airports and declare martial law in them with house arrest for all citizens. let doctors work on cure. profit.

^ i agree. i never understood why this movie was supposed to be so great
12/29/2009 10:41:41 PM
it was a big part of the 1984 craze (came out in 85). it isn't too original but at the time the visuals were pretty impressive.

you find the story creative?? i think the movie would have been bigger if it had any sort of surprising twist or plot.as it is its just a 1984 clone thats well written and visually appealing
