This new 7.75% sales tax is brutal. This weekend I picked up a 3/8 drive torque wrench and I had to pay $6.20 in taxes. I bought 17 gallons of premium and paid $8.26 in taxes. I'm glad I buy car parts online.

We've got the highest gas tax of southern states and we now have a turnpike authority. They're also considering taxing our mileage on top of everything else.

well if all these taxes were treated as pigovian taxes, the money from which could be used to help offset the negative aspects of driving a car everywhere and buying shit...........but we all know our legislature doesn't do this

this money goes for bullshit social programs, which is why i kinda agree with Matt on this

otherwise i'm down for a high sales tax, because it is the most equitable imo
