My laptop died about a month back and I just got a new one. I don't care about most of the stuff on the HDD in the old system, but I just want to pull one folder off of it that has all my music, documents, photos, etc. What's the cheapest, easiest way to do this? Should I just buy an enclosure and do it use it as an external drive, and transfer it via USB? Will it be a problem that the old HDD has an OS on it, or is it simply plug and play with an external enclosure?

and no, it shouldn't be a problem. i have seen some weird situations where windows file security tries to tell you don't have rights to access your own files but if that happens let us know..there are ways around it
