lol either that pic or you misspelled his name...i wouldnt have even touched that....way too many vowels
11/24/2009 9:41:58 PM
oops, its all good, no one will notice
11/24/2009 9:43:02 PM
was gonna post my own but I guess this'll do -fight's in danger because the Mayweather camp swears Manny is doping, and they want a full USADA-run Olympic style random drug screening process, which involves blood and urine testing for both parties up until the day of the fight. Pacquiao will only agree to Nevada state rules, which are urine any time and blood testing up until a few days before the fight. Pacquiao wants to file a defamation lawsuit he's so mad.http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/boxing/news/story?id=4771718
12/26/2009 2:16:25 AM
Floyd's camp is playing mind games. Floyd, Sr. should keep his big mouth shut. It's funny most of the Floyd supporters are saying Manny is hiding something, but USADA testing can be done at any time day or night, if they want to test you at 3 am they can, which could be bad during fight week. Manny has agreed to more stringent testing just no tests during the last few days before the fight. Honestly this is a tactic by Floyd's camp to get in Manny's head and I would say its working.
12/26/2009 8:38:11 AM
they both look like assholes over this shit
12/26/2009 9:21:26 AM
I hope it's just smoke and mirrors, because I REALLY want to see this fight.
12/26/2009 11:03:31 AM
if manny has been doping all this time, it really changes everything
12/26/2009 11:56:49 AM
Mayweather is undefeated, never even been knocked down really. The fact he is trying to play mind games right now shows he's scared of Pacquiao when it should be the other way around. Does he think Pacquiao would jeopardize the highest pay-day in boxing history by injecting himself with anything illegal right now? Really? I think he's waking up a big beast even he himself might not be able to handle.
12/26/2009 12:18:23 PM
It's not unreasonable for Floyd to ask that a fight of this proportion be tested in an IOC manner. I'm not convinced that Manny is using PED's, but it at least raises doubt when he refuses to comply.Mayweather's point is that if you've got nothing to hide then the testing shouldn't be a problem and I agree with that.
12/26/2009 12:37:52 PM
Mayweather's point is that he wants to be able to dictate the rules. This whole event is 50-50 moneywise. Mayweather wants to do some of these "little" things that he feels will make him the more important or "bigger" of the two fighters. Pacquiao doesn't feel like playing these little games and dealing with his crap, which is why he's suing. Pacquiao has never received a positive drug test. He was willing to submit to more stringent rules, but Mayweather still kept changing them. Expect Mayweather to back off soon enough. Pacquiao decided to hit his wallet. Consequently, if Mayweather loses money, then Pacquiao would make more money and would rub it in Mayweather's face. A lot of posturing by both parties, which just pisses off a majority of people.
12/26/2009 1:21:36 PM
12/26/2009 1:27:33 PM
Exactly. Mayweather and his camp are just being little bitches. It's basically setting up a reason for Mayweather in the case that he actually loses. So they can say, well, he didnt do the more rigorous drug testing so who knows what he allegedly took.
12/26/2009 1:51:14 PM
IF YOU HAVE NOTHING TO HIDE THIS SHOULDN'T BE A PROBLEM
12/26/2009 1:56:43 PM
so lets assume you're not doping. would you be ok with the possibility of being woken up the day before your fight at 4am for a blood test?
12/26/2009 2:01:41 PM
for the $texas they are getting paid for this fight I wouldn't have the least bit of concern for waking someone up.
12/26/2009 2:06:02 PM
no no no, would YOU want your sleep/training to be interrupted?
12/26/2009 2:10:19 PM
12/26/2009 2:11:29 PM
^^ would you mind someone waking you up if you were collecting 30 mill later that day?I'll say it again, I don't think he is using PED's but submitting to a drug test is trivial. If you have nothing to hide this shouldn't be a problem.
12/26/2009 2:17:01 PM
If I'm champ, I'm pound for pound king, I'm boxing's biggest draw and I've been training the same way for years, which has got me to this point in my life......no, i'm not changing a damn thing. If you don't like it, go fight someone else and forever be known as the best fighter in this era behind me, Manny Pacquiao.
12/26/2009 2:28:40 PM
so you would essentially pay millions of dollars NOT to take a drug test?riiiiiight
12/26/2009 2:33:34 PM
not earning $$ =/= paying $$
12/26/2009 2:35:47 PM
Change the argument, spin it, do whatever you need to do but if someone said to me, "All I need to do is take 10 minutes of your time to get a blood and urine sample and then you can start counting your money" I would do that shit with bells on saying "yes sir" the entire time. You would too.
12/26/2009 2:42:00 PM
Yes we all would if money was the only reason. I dont think that's the reason right now for Pacquiao, he can whoop up on two lesser fighters later this year and still make just as much money. It's a pride issue. Mayweather is insinuating that he's cheated his way to the top by asking for all of this other crap. Why give in to someone like that? It's not like he needs this fight. Mayweather is the one that needs this fight.
12/26/2009 4:17:07 PM
Quit making excuses for a guy asking for a fucking drug test. It's well within his right to ask such a thing about athletes these days considering the last 15 years and all the scandals that have been uncovered. Did it every occur to you that Manny might actually be using PED's and THAT'S why he asked for a drug test? If he quits acting like a bitch about it and complies this will all go away.
12/26/2009 5:06:41 PM
Yes, we should all assume all athletes are using PEDs. I'm not making excuses for him, I'm saying for every right Mayweather has to try to make him take more drug tests, he has just as many right to say FUCK NO! If the State of Nevada isn't good enough then Mayweather can go find himself another fighter.
12/26/2009 5:37:36 PM
^^ u mad?
12/28/2009 12:06:03 PM
12/28/2009 1:43:31 PM
What the fuck are you talking about?? You have no idea who I am.It's only scheduled to be the richest fight in history, yet this fucker is ducking and dodging standardized testing. It's part of the deal now that doping has become commonplace in sports. Boxing is one of the few sports where one could get away with it since there is no real governing body and CBA. [Edited on December 28, 2009 at 3:54 PM. Reason : ]
12/28/2009 3:51:50 PM
The point is that you're acting like the money is more important than winning. They're both getting paid, so winning is the only important thing. Drawing blood at 4 AM before a fight is a serious disturbance to the body just before it's expected to perform at one hundred percent.Hell, this entire thing is about winning. Mayweather has never gotten bitchy about blood tests before, but he's always had a psychological advantage going into the fight. Against Pacquiao, he has none, and he's trying to rectify it.
12/28/2009 3:57:13 PM
12/28/2009 3:58:49 PM
^ you don't know shitThat's because Mayweather's trainer has what he believes is information that Manny has used PED's in the past. It's neither an advantage nor a disadvantage because they would have to get a sample from Floyd at the same time. It's not like they would wake Manny up to fuck with him then let Floyd sleep. He would get sampled at 4am too. I really could give 2 shits about who wins this fight, but if Manny wins, why even give the haters ammunition with dodging the test? If he wants to be known as the greatest of all time then he has the power to remove ALL doubt about his career with a clean blood test and a KO.[Edited on December 28, 2009 at 4:04 PM. Reason : d][Edited on December 28, 2009 at 4:05 PM. Reason : df]
12/28/2009 4:03:46 PM
there have never been any doubts about Manny's career until Mayweather pulled this out of his assthis is what boxers who are unsure of themselves before going into the ring do
12/28/2009 4:08:07 PM
oh so now you're a boxing analyst? All you are doing is repeating something a fucking ESPN article says..bunch of Pac fanboys ITT
12/28/2009 4:12:32 PM
Manny has issues with needles; to think that he's not at a psychological disadvantage waiting for that test to come versus Mayweather who doesn't have needle issues is naive. It's not as naive, however, as the idea that this move is aimed at something other than shaking Pacquiao's focus.
12/28/2009 4:12:59 PM
actually, I've been a fan of Mayweather longer than I have been a fan of Mannyit's just clear that May is using this tactic to try and gain a psychological edge
12/28/2009 4:14:11 PM
you have no idea if that is the truth or notplease do us all a favor and stop trying to pass off your opinion as fact
12/28/2009 4:16:44 PM
Like I said, you're obviously not a competitive person.
12/28/2009 4:19:35 PM
totally obvious....
12/28/2009 4:20:43 PM
if mayweather has any reason to believe that manny is using PED's then he should not walk into that ring unless he is confident he is fighting a fair fightwhy should he risk his legacy to a cheater?to manny's defense i would say the normal procedure should be used unless mayweather can produce some evidence that would support his suspicion.
12/28/2009 5:01:42 PM
ribs is a moron. lolzand manny agreed to give blood right AFTER the fight to prove he's not on PED'S... he just said he doesn't want his blood drawn the week of the fight... he agreed to urine tests up until fight time, but no blood... if he's on PED'S during the fight, it would show up in the blood test he woudl give right AFTER the fight in his locker room the same night... but apparently thats not good enough for mayweather.. he wants it before..he's just trying to be a douche, and he's doing a good job..
12/29/2009 12:53:23 AM
Thats Ribs is a moron! How dare he have a different opinion than me! What is he thinking?
12/29/2009 10:28:37 AM
12/29/2009 11:38:02 AM
i assume that every professional athlete is using some sort of performance enhancer. it's just how it is.
12/29/2009 12:00:39 PM
it would be hilarious if one of these fighters managed to not make weight after they stirred up all of this shit over doping. It would be doubly hilarious if this were to happen to Mayweather.[Edited on December 29, 2009 at 10:13 PM. Reason : besides, drug tests can't detect HGH, IGF, or SARMs. this is purely psychological in tactic.]
12/29/2009 10:10:33 PM
I'm not a boxing fan...but this shit is starting to get really entertaining...http://msn.foxsports.com/boxing/story/Pacquiao-sues-Mayweathers-defamation-123009
12/30/2009 7:27:53 PM
ok ok, i think i see perfectly well what is going onthis is too ludicrous to be true.whenever a fight promoter wants to drum up interest they create a fight outside of the ring, this is sounding more like a scripted drama than reality
12/30/2009 9:12:03 PM
^ I had that thought earlier...but weren't a ton of people already excited about this fight anyway?
12/30/2009 9:13:43 PM
if you had to front 200 million to the fighters and whatnot im pretty sure you'd want to make sure you're gonna get your money back
12/30/2009 9:20:04 PM
asking for $75,000 sounds like a publicity stunt. De La Hoya and Mayweather have to be worth at least a hundred million each, and false doping allegations could severely tarnish Pacquiao's career unless he goes through with the testing and publicizes the clean results.besides, I'd rather see these two doping hardcore so that they could be fighting at a respectable light-heavyweight class. middleweights fights have been boring as hell the last few years.
