the answer to your question is no. there are netbooks out there in the same price range that offer faster performance and better battery life. that laptop is cheap... and that's about all it has going for it.

^ that's not true at all...at all!this is by no means a high-end laptop, but it DOES have a few things going for it compared to a netbook...specifically:1.) it has the 4500MHD graphics (so you can play HD content)2.) gigabit ethernet (i don't know that i've seen any netbooks with this, but i might have missed it)3.) DVD burner (netbooks don't have this at all)4.) Windows 7 (no netbook around $250 will have this)for $250, yeah, i think it's actually pretty decent...that processor is absolutely awful, but it'll perform better than a single-core atom

fineFINE! I'd still say spend a bit more and get something nicer. That's 6+ pounds of technology from several years ago.

I went to best buy to pick up a TV yesterday, and some dude bought 4 of these and was picking them up.

It has wireless G and draft-N too... that's a pretty good deal... wonder how the CELERON handles anything of value though....
11/12/2009 1:48:06 PM
^^ good point^ the celeron will suck donkey balls...it's anemic and only a single core, but it will be fine for word processing, media viewing, and intarweb browsing...for only $250, that's to be expected

for all it does, it seems like a pretty nice deal.

would this be a candidate for hackintosh?

don't get acer. their support sucks.
