Does anyone actually find him funny. His stand up is terrible, the little of his show I saw is terrible and he just is lame and not funny at all. Who the hell watches this guy and finds him funny. I mean he makes Larry the Cable Guy look like George Carlin and Richard Pryor

its pretty sad when your promos for a ventriloquism show do close ups of the puppets when they talk

marko can't save you now

and jeff dunham is horrible

Let's remember our performance hierarchy:
Legitimate theater, musical theater, stand-up, ventriloquism, magic, mime.

This guy fucking sucks.

IMO his standup is horrible and his show is even worse.

I'd switch magic and ventriloquism. A magician at least has to learn a fairly robust set of skills to be impressive. A ventriloquist just needs a stool, a sock puppet and a severe case of dissociative identity disorder.

And you know what? Fuck that. A mime at least has to learn how to communicate without words, and make what he's doing look real.

Christ I can't believe Jeff Dunham has me defending mimes. He sucks even more now.

the very first time you see him doing standup, he's ok for like 7-8 minutes

i'll give him props as an entrepreneur though

he's a mediocre comedian and a decent ventriliquist

put them together, you have something unique to the game

enough to get his own show

for at least like a third of a season

i laughed once at the asian guy interviewing good charlotte or my chemical romance or something.

3 seconds of laffs out of a 30 minute show is not a good track record

I'm AstralAdvent and i approved this message

This is the guy with the puppets right? he is TERRIBLE.

Some of my coworkers during the summer swear he is the funniest person ever.

My brother and his wife really like him. Got us a DVD of him for Christmas. He's tolerable and the wife likes him, but she loves safe comedians anyways. Dane Cook, Jeff Dunham, Jim Gaffigan. I like some of their stuff, but I much prefer more harder comics like Jim Norton, Vos, Patrice O'Neal, Jay Mohr, etc.

Jim Gaffigan might be "safe," but at least he's funny. I already said it another thread, but Jeff Dunham is not funny to me. He's a good ventriloquist, but that gets old quickly.

Dunham was kind of funny the first time I saw it, and got more and more painful every time after.

Unfortunately many people I know like him, including my parents, and they always try to force it on me.

I can't really blame them though, comedy is subjective. I'll admit that I like frank caliendo, and have heard many people complain about him (his show sucked though).

makes old people and people that think the average comedian is racy laugh. basically he's about mediocre as humanly possible...meaning absolutely terrible.

Looks like you were right, Republican18.

Comedy Central won't renew 'Jeff Dunham Show'
Dec. 29, 2009

Quote :
"NEW YORK (AP) -- Comedy Central won't be renewing 'The Jeff Dunham Show' for a second season.

The show, featuring comedian Jeff Dunham and his repertoire of puppets, attracted plenty of attention, both positive and negative. Its debut drew 5.3 million viewers, a season premiere record for Comedy Central. But most of the reviews were terrible, and ratings dwindled during the season.

Comedy Central spokesman Steve Albani says the network will continue 'to be in business with Jeff in a big way,' including a live tour, standup special, DVDs and consumer-products partnership.

Comedy Central signed a multi-platform deal with Dunham in March."

come on... he wasn't all that bad. i would never seek him out or pay money to watch him, but there have been a few SLOW nights on tv when absolutely nothing else was on and he sufficiently entertained me.

SILENCE I KEEELL U

that's a least a little bit funny if you had seen it before you found out that your parents really liked him

1) if you're funny, you don't need puppets

2) if you're going to use puppets as the crux of your act, at least be a DECENT ventriloquist!

I don't find him funny, but I have a coworker in my summer job who thinks he is the funniest man alive. To each his own. It doesn't make me angry that some people find him funny but I don't.

I haven't seen a lot of his stuff, but what I have seen has been pretty funny. Not sure he deserves his own show though.

i mean... come on people... why so serious all the time? can't you just loosen up a little bit and laff once in a while?

I think that anyone who gets about comedy doesn't really have an appreciation for humor.

I guess some people don't have very good senses of humor and have a hard time finding the funny in things.
