Depends on your locale. Where you at? I can do damn near anything, but I'm not close to NCSU anymore.

I can tell you where the jetta is leaking but I'm not willing to do that job currently.I can do the brakes for you any time that it isn't supposed to rain. (unless you have it in a garage)[Edited on November 10, 2009 at 3:35 PM. Reason : .]

where is the coolant leaking from? driver side or passenger side?

i couldn't tell. after i replaced the coolant and drove it a short distance, the temp warning light came back on and i had to drive it back immediately. all of the coolant i had replaced was gone. (with no clue as to which side it was) I looked under the hood and this was the only thing that looked out of the ordinary: a hose that was detached. It looks as if it broke off inside the part it was connected to. I included some pics...[Edited on November 12, 2009 at 11:37 PM. Reason : .]

beethead...replace many of them damn heater valves on VWs?
11/13/2009 3:29:43 PM
not particularly. the coolant flange on the engine is the most common cooling system failure besides the water pump.

how about coolant temp sensors
11/14/2009 12:13:06 PM
oh yeah.. that too for sure
