K-Mart, Kohls, Lowes, Old Navy, and Sears are out so far. Target, Wal-Mart, nor Best Buy have yet to come out.

Yea we're doing Sears at 4am to buy my parents a washer dryer combo, then onto potomac Mills outlets for everything else

it's rediculous what you can find - I even make lists of what I need to buy myself for my apartment, clothes etc

Last year Sears had this Samsung front loader HE washer dryer set on sale for $999. The sale was all weekend so we went Saturday but they were sold out. They gave us a nicer LG set for the same price and didn't have to wait in line. So if you are getting appliances sometimes they may be willing to swap out for another similar product if you ask.

if a consumer already purchased an item and then it becomes cheaper on black friday do they get the price difference/match guarantee offered by the retailer? or in some instances their credit card card offers the price guarantee too?

or i suppose if one buys something cheaper on black friday, they can return their previous purchase if within 30 days?

Get there early. We had supply issues so badly last year when they did that special that our store was dealing with angry customers and delayed orders until May. My understanding is that this year it'll be strictly a "while quantities last" promo, which will still piss off Cary's residents, but I'm used to them being pissed at everything.

i work at the sears in cary, in electronics. I will never work in appliances at our store b/c Cary residents are basically grown up babies who need everything given to them.

sigh

NewEgg. Don't waste your time going out. I got a 42" 1080p LCD for $500.

yea, we're hoping to get in there early, if we don't get it, we don't get it.

the fact that so many places are opening up so early is insane to me - just goes to show you how bad off the economy is

oh and similar website to the one in the OP: http://www.black-friday.net/

I bet that was the set we picked up at friends and family for something like $799 a few months before

Do any of these blackfriday sites have a feature that lets you define what you're shopping for, then it returns all the items/prices/stores for whatever you want? Like if I just want a GPS unit, or a laptop, or a game console...whatever. So I don't have to open up 96 different ads to look for one single thing???

if the item is a black friday special you can not go the day of and return the item and rebuy it at the lower price. you could go the day before and return it per their normal purchase/return terms and then try to rebuy it the next day (black friday) but chances are you won't get to cause someone will swap it up before you have a chance to get it. if you wanna take that chance, go for it.

just so you all know a LOT of deals will be at at every Sears this Sunday night. If you are looking for appliances or any other big ticket item and would like time to actually TALK to somebody, we will have the Black Friday prices going on (except for the early open specials) plus 5-10% off on top of that as well. Financing and so on too.

Bought the HE3t Washer/Dryer set that is for sale on Black Friday at SEARS already at Southpointe. Manager there said i could buy it now and just get a price adjustment on Black Friday before noon. It was a doorbuster as well. I read their price match policy and wording says i could do this too.

I'd rather pay more to not deal with the black friday BS.

^,^^ never buy a Westinghouse. they are POSs, with horrible manufacturing quality, horrible picture quality, and some of the worst CS ever seen

be that as it may, it's hard to beat any 32" lcd tv for $250, and this is for the bedroom anyway. fyi, target will adjust the price for anything that goes on sale within 2 weeks of the purchase date, so if you don't feel like standing in line...

^^ i spoke to the manager at one in greensboro and she assured me that they would adjust the price regardless, because i specifically mentioned black friday and what if a certain tv just "happened" to be on sale that day. they don't care, they're still selling the product, and this way some fool might forget to even come get the price adjusted

at least you asked. I know we will not, because it isn't fair to people who wait in line.

**of course there are about 8 models of TVs by Samsung, Sony, and LG that we cannot sell until this date anyway so you couldn't buy them before********

yeah, target is pretty good about this kind of thing...i don't think most people know that they'll adjust their prices, so buying it ahead of time and then getting the adjustment is a great way to go

^^ what's the model on that westinghouse? my parents still have a 32" CRT with a bad picture, so i'm thinking about picking that up for them for christmas...i might like better quality, but they'll really appreciate the difference

I bought a 32" Westinghouse HD TV about 3 years ago. Total POS. Locks up on HD channels and you have to unplug it/plug it back in to reset.

talleywack we did that last year for the washer / dryer combo from Sears. They are excellent. Be careful though, there was a LARGE backorder of them and took awhile to actually receive a set.

Walmart's Ad is available but not allowed to be posted on the various sites as of yet. Look for a torrent of it or various forum posts that haven't been removed. Their prices are true Black Friday prices IMHO.

Looks like the big items for this year are the LCD/Plasma TVs. Do your research / homework before purchasing. Don't end up paying a couple hundred dollars for a crappy model just because it seemed like a good deal at the time. I personally would not purchase a 60hz LCD TV they are advertising in many of the BF Ads.
