That sounds fantastic. It's too bad there's no way a tour like that would work out.

why are the black keys doing this?
11/22/2009 2:14:10 PM
because good musicians like to branch out?their last album was produced by Danger Mouse, dude. don't get on some high horse.[Edited on November 22, 2009 at 2:16 PM. Reason : it's ok so far, I will probably have to let it grow on me]
11/22/2009 2:15:29 PM
^ yeah and it was also their weakest album
11/22/2009 2:21:20 PM
debatable. What You Do To Me - Featuring Billy Danze, Jim Jones, and Nicole Wray - best song on the album so far[Edited on November 22, 2009 at 2:34 PM. Reason : .]

i think the only legitimate case you'd have would be against chulahoma, and that's not even an album really
11/22/2009 2:34:03 PM
i thought this was pretty mediocre
11/22/2009 2:36:01 PM
^ Like I said, I'm gonna have to listen to it about 5 more times before I make a final decision on itso far it's just "OK"
11/22/2009 2:43:08 PM
^, ^^ absolutely agree. The videos from the making of this collaboration gave me alot of hope that this was going to be great....I think I'll just stick with regular Black Keys. On a side note if you haven't already, see them in concert- they fucking rock

I think probably there's a very very small demographic that this will appeal heavily to - and offhand I can only name two people that I know personally who would be in itmyself, and WillemJoel[Edited on November 22, 2009 at 10:24 PM. Reason : .]

never ever give a baby black root
11/24/2009 1:12:26 PM
really what ruined any chance of me looking into this was seeing the black keys mentioned in the same breath as ludacris. one of the best blues rock groups to come around in a while associated with a rapper with such profound work as "move bitch," "stand up," and "rollout (my business)"? no thank you.

Just got this and started listening. Not liking the Ludacris/ODB track at all, but the Mos Def one is pretty good.

After listening to it 5+ times, I have to say that it's not very good. The biggest problem that I had with it is that Dame Dash decided that Nicole Wray - a one hit wonder for the ages - would be a better singer on some of these tracks than Dan Auerbach himself. There is a grand total of ONE song on the entire album where Dan is singing anything other than bullshit background filler.Dan Auerbach's singing is a major part of what makes the Black Keys the Black Keys. Dame Dash thinks that one hit single in 1998 and a flop album the same year is somehow better suited to vocals than a guy who has sung on 7 releases with his band, and another solo album?Fuck all that.
