take an otoscope and look down the headphone jack.

if you see pink, you're screwed.

otherwise, take it to the genius bar.

^^you can always take a piece of white paper and tape and stick it down there. Fools the apple store sometimes.

Does it still work? Is there water under the screen? Sticking it in a bag of rice, or in a bag with those moisture absorbing pellets works for that.

There are more water sensors in the dock and inside the phone I believe

^yeah but the apple people only check the one in the headphone jack before they give you a new phone. I convinced them that my old ipod touch had a faulty screen because of the water under it, and they gave me a new ipod because the water thing in the headphone jack was still white. It's all about who you can fool at the apple store.

^the water sensor in my iphone 3g dock is tripped but the one in the headphone jack is fine. Maybe I should go back and try again then.
