Geico wants me to take it to Coats body shopshould I wait, get an estimate and then take it to the chevy place and have them do it since its still under warranty? will whatever they do at coats mess up the warranty?I know if Chevy screws up theyd replace whatever.

you can take it anywhere you wanti would have the dealer give you an estimate, with oem, not salvage or aftermarket parts, and hold firm to that price till you get a checkthen fix it yourself with salvage or aftermarket parts or take it to a cheaper shop$profit$i made about $3k last time i got rear ended by this method, also, do not tell them you are ok until it is fixed, i had a rental truck for damn near two months, because by back and neck felt kind of funny

^ Agreed on getting estimates from the dealer. Even if you don't want to do the work yourself you need to get estimates from the dealer and some of the higher priced shops around here. Fuck who they want you to take it to; take it to the place that you think will do the best work. Also, don't forget to get money for loss of value on your vehicle. message_topic.aspx?topic=386449[Edited on November 2, 2009 at 7:16 PM. agreed. the dealer will give a ridiculously high price. if you can get them to pay it then you'll make out awesome on the deal.

I would recommend checking out Paragon on Capitol for a quote and/or work.

would having a body shop other than the delearship work on it totally do away with the warranty coverage from Chevy?
11/2/2009 9:02:12 PM
shouldn'tbut they'll probably tell you it does

so, what dealerships actually do repair work from wrecks? I'm not aware of any.You can go to a dealer, and they are going to tell you to go somewhere else, or they just turn around and send your car somewhere else.

I'm pretty sure Rick Hendrick Chevrolet in Durham does their own repair work in house.

Make sure you ask your agent for depreciation. Even though your car might get fixed, its worth less for being in a wreck. They have to pay you that amount. They will not do so unless you ask. A girl in my program got an extra $3k in for doing so.

http://www.bobbymurray.com1820 Capital BlvdRaleigh, NC 27604-2194(919) 834-6441be sure to tell them that it's for an insurance claim against someone that hit you, they seem to give an estimate with a...greater margin for error that way.
