Yes, we are truly awful in sports. In 2000 there looked like a lot of potential with Rivers/Amato on board and new football facilities on the way, a new basketball facility and top ranked recruits like Wilkens, Sherrill, and a fresh commitment from top 10 ranked Julius Hodge...But it was all a facade. Their careers came and went with a steady dose of brutal losses and near misses and since then we have ruled the shitter.Had things not looked so bright in 2000 I would have never committed to NC State and saved myself from such a wretched decade of sports. I can attribute most of my current apathy towards college athletics to the hellacious personal experience of being a state fan.

aren't we the worst overall in the ACC in bball and football since expansion?
10/28/2009 5:20:57 PM
wasn't there already a thread on this?
10/28/2009 5:42:21 PM
doesn't every NC State thread in ST end up being about how shitty we are?
10/28/2009 5:45:08 PM
why are we responding to each other with questions?
10/28/2009 5:50:02 PM
Why not?

yeah, we suck. but to include women's basketball in the discussion is pretty silly. and to refer to it as a "revenue sport", well, that's just plain idiotic.
10/28/2009 11:26:28 PM
^ in all fairness it's been the third largest revenue sport for the past 15 years unless something's changed the past 2-3 years and i havent been paying attention

Just continue to tell any NC State group asking for money that you are not supporting NC State until Lee Fowler is fired. I essentially told that to the Wolfpack Club, Alumni Association, and the Annual Giving fund people.

I thought this thread was about the braves.

I'd be curious to see how many schools haven't won conference titles in football and men's basketball since the 92-93 season...cause I mean who really gives a shit about women's basketball, and who cares as much about college baseball as mens basketball or football?]
