In case anyone else out there is a die hard fan of the most disgusting and disheartening franchise in the history of the National Football League, I thought you may enjoy this article:

Read it and enjoyed it. As a Browns fan, I empathize all too much with the guy. At least he's still somewhat passionate about the team. What used to be one of the better football cities in the US is now becoming apathetic with the team sucking as bad as it has.

Truth be told, its going to take some time for the Browns to be competitive again as we're probably going to have to draft a QB in the draft and get some Major help in the secondary and linebacker positions as well as a running back. I know no other Browns fan wants to hear that after now 10 years of suckage since coming back, but look at the roster. Once you get past Shuan Rogers, Joe Thomas and Josh Cribbs, it's mostly journeyman or mendoza-line players.

I don't think it makes any sense to fire Mangini after this year, unless Marty Schottenheimer or Cowher agrees to come back, which they won't. I just don't feel there's any obvious replacement for Mangini. The owner Randy Lerner is already paying Phil Savage and Romeo Crennel for past contracts and I don't know if it'd be wise to put a third wheel on that.

This year's draft will go a long way in determining the future of the organization. I agree that it does not make sense to fire Mangini after 1 season. Look at the team he has inherited, there is very little in the way of talent at any position on the roster. With currently 11 (will probably be more) picks in the coming draft, you have to give the man an opportunity to bring in his own guys and try to make his system work.

That being said, the lack of execution and all out effort from the team has been been disheartening. Whether that is an artifact of the previous regime or the players dislike for Mangini, only time will tell. I say that if there are guys on the team that are not buying into what Mangini is saying, get 'em the hell out of town. Sick and tired of watching 53 guys every Sunday that could give a shit less about the outcome of the game, as long as they get paid.

I think our first and foremost target in the draft has got to be on the defensive side of the ball. Eric Berry is the logical choice (assuming he isn't taken ahead of where we pick, which there is a good chance of). A running back of the future would also be nice, as Jamal Lewis has shown a complete inability to hit any size hole, dancing 13 steps in the backfield before even getting to the line of scrimmage.

I am going to stop here, because I could really go on for hours about the frustrations that the Browns have brought me. Truth is, things probably won't get better under the current owner. The Browns are the worst team in the NFL, and I am 100% convinced of that.

I'd hardly call myself a Browns fan (because I am not one), but I have made a pledge that in the event that they reach the playoffs on any given year, I will root for them over every other team in the NFL. I am considering extending this pledge to the Detroit Lions, but I don't want any of their mind-numbing patheticness to rub off on me.

Anyway, as NC State fans, most of us can sympathize with this guy to a pretty good degree.

^^^ I agree about drafting Berry. Most experts pick him as the most NFL-ready player in the draft. Why we waited until the freaking sixth round to draft an RB in last year's draft is beyond me, although I think Davis has potential. Taking two straight WR in the second round was also a head-scratcher.

There is some major controversy going down in Cleveland, as Kokinis was reportedly fired "with cause", meaning he will not be paid the balance of his contract. This whole situation is just further proof that the Browns are as dysfunctional as it gets."

I don't think Florida would have any chance against the Browns. Level of talent and available practice time would make it entirely too hard.
