Especially since there currently isn't any dual channel kit installed to lose. WinXP32 ATM, perhaps Win7 in the future.Ultimately, I'll end up maxing with a 4GB dual channel kit, but it's a work PC so I'll be waiting until it's purchased for me.[Edited on October 27, 2009 at 12:21 PM. For general purpose stuff more ram is almost always better. For windows 7 its definitely better because of superfetch.

the first one. because it's paired memory and it's faster frequency than the crucial

Yeah, which is why the prices make absolutely no sense.Unless this IBM Thinkcentre is kind to overclockers I don't think frequency will matter.[Edited on October 27, 2009 at 12:57 PM. Reason : .]

unless its graphics memory on a high bandwidth grapics card cause i know my nvidia 8600gt with 256 megs of ddr 3 blew away the one with 512 megs of ddr2.that being said my laptop with its ddr3 is way faster than my old one with ddr2... but then i ditched windows too.
