Anyone been playing this? Just came out for PS3/Xbox, i'm waiting on PC tomorrow. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ip5o1TcIrFg

I don't think I'm going to pick it up anytime soon, just because it hit at a bad time...Uncharted 2 and Brutal Legend are out, and Dragon Age is coming in a week.

Level 13 solider so farHaving a good time, but for some reason took me a bit to get used to the shooting. I will be glad when I find a really cool rare weapon though (love loot games) because most enemies that are only 1 level above you still pose a pretty strong threat, and if they are 2 above, watch outMight try some co-op with a buddy at some point
10/25/2009 3:21:20 PM
i too am waiting for this on the PCi'll play with you guys
10/25/2009 3:41:06 PM
Is there a demo yet? I'm pretty interested but I can't be sure without playing it.
10/25/2009 4:34:15 PM
Ive been playing this on PS3. Lots of fun. Weapons are cool, looking for loot is just as addicting as I remember Diablo. This game has kept me from doing anything this weekend.
10/25/2009 8:01:02 PM
played a brick to level 10 last night, this game is fun as hell
10/26/2009 5:13:41 AM
I've read a couple reviews for it and I've seen a ton of Diablo references but no Hellgate references. How does this game compare? I thought Hellgate London was awful, this seems to be a little bit more fps based then diablo based like Hellgate was.
10/26/2009 6:27:59 AM
^Curious about this also. The first thing I thought when I read IGN's review was Hellgate London, and I couldn't bring myself to finish that game. Kinda put a damper on their rave review.Unreal Tournament had some mods that added RPG-like elements. Wonder if the game is similar to that?[Edited on October 26, 2009 at 8:46 AM. Reason : -]

I have this next up on my gamefly Q...and will very likely just buy it after playing it...I heart loot games.
10/26/2009 12:27:31 PM
i too am intrigued by this game, but would like to try it out first.
10/26/2009 1:11:53 PM
cmon Hellgate London wasn't THAT bad, it was just.... unfinished..

Level 25 Soldier. Playing with a Hunter and Siren that are both around the same level. If you happen to play with 2 other people and don't want to bother spawning 2 cars just stand in front of one and let them push you. Had some epic drive-bys with me getting pushed on the front taking out raiders. Still need a few levels to play around with the trees. Once I do i'll have a lot of stopping power and be able to heal fiends by shooting them. Need to find an awesome rocket launcher for splash healing too.
10/26/2009 2:37:51 PM
this sounds crazy/awesome. do want for PC.
10/26/2009 3:26:46 PM
My buddy and I were co-op playing this weekend. We're pretty experienced video gamers, him very much so, and we found that the game oscillated wildly between "lots of fun" and "maddeningly difficult." To the point where we just turned it off and said "Fuck it."My big complaint is shit respawning. You start at your save point, fight a horde of incredibly powerful enemies that kill you several times, and finally overpower them. Then you go a little farther and run into an even more difficult horde that kills you several times. By the time you get close to taking out that horde, the first one pops back to life, forcing you to fight it again, allowing the second group to respawn, and so on.

I've been reading that people are having problems installing on Windows 7 and that there are issues with 191.x versions of the nvidia driver. That will make it easier to hold off for a while.
10/26/2009 4:22:13 PM
Can't you just install in compatibility mode for vista?
10/26/2009 4:37:24 PM
Just installed with Win7 64 and newest nvidia drivers. Seems to work fine. No in game vync option though. Kinda annoying.
10/26/2009 5:26:51 PM
got it last evening, i'm a level 9 soldier on 360my first purple item was a shotgun with a scope wtf it does pretty much 1-hit kill anything my level though i'm rocking that and an SMG with zoom for my primaries
10/31/2009 12:13:41 PM
^ I definitely spent most of the lower levels using a variety of weapons, but once I picked up the purple rifleman class mod @ lvl 19, I went combat rifles all the way and never looked back. (31% combat rifle damage, 3 assault skill, 2 overload skill, 2 impact skill.)
10/31/2009 1:53:06 PM
I'm running the pc version with w7x64 fine. Also, when you get to new haven. There is a red chest on the roof near scooter. If you jump up there, loot, and restart, you can farm money and items pretty quick. It doesn't really help you after level 27 or so, but its still great.

digging this on PC. playing a hunter but I'm pretty low. Sniping is not as cool as I'd hoped, I may make a soldier.
11/1/2009 10:24:17 AM
i'm loving this game so much.lvl 27 soldier.. i switch between assault rifles and SMGs usually.. though i've yet to find a really good SMG that i like.
11/1/2009 4:04:20 PM
i'm a lvl 19 hunter, but my big complaint is that sniping is pretty much impossible because the goons know where i am before i can even see them. i can snipe, but i'm getting shot at doing it
11/1/2009 4:28:34 PM
^ I'm experiencing the same issue with sniping, thinking about a reroll.
11/1/2009 5:13:31 PM
the accuracy of a bunch of wasteland thugs is shocking as well
11/1/2009 5:28:19 PM
My coworker and started this weekend on PC. Any one want to co op with us? We're like level 13ish. Beserker and Hunter.
11/2/2009 3:10:31 PM
Some friends and I bought 3 copies of this from Best Buy (buy 2 get 1 free) and we've been loving it so far. The gameplay is amazingly well polished... all the guns shoot just the way you'd expect them to (and it's amazing how many generic FPS games manage to get that part wrong), and everything feels very natural. And of course action/loot RPGs are great fun.So far I've got a level 22 Soldier (medic spec) and a level 11-ish Berserker. Will probably end up playing through to 50 with every class at some point, anyway... the only thing stopping me is schoolwork
11/2/2009 4:58:05 PM
went though that job to get all the sniper rifle parts and it was a meh rifleand omgwtf badass scag, you ate like 7 rockets before going down
11/2/2009 6:40:17 PM
imma gonna play now.i'm addicted.
11/2/2009 8:15:02 PM
Level 28 hunter - it's fairly easy going. I was having quite a bit of trouble with getting mobbed by the animal enemies until I got Sledge's shotgun. Still no cure for bosses though.I also have a very nice shield that heals me, has a 41 for regen and protects for like 300 damage. That's probably what is keeping me in the game. I'll get hit while sniping but it's no big deal.
11/2/2009 9:23:09 PM
You'll get some pretty ridiculous gear once you hit the quests related to Old Haven. I'm rocking a green shield that takes 500 damage with a recharge rate of 63. I actually went in @ level 28 and left @ lvl 30, before completing the 2 quests I had there. Fighting the Crimson Lance mobs have restored the element of challenge to the game.
11/2/2009 9:28:08 PM
just bought this game. very awesome. only level 6 soldier because I spend more time wandering around looking for loot than quests. Anyway, if anyone wants to co-op on Xbox Live PM me.
11/2/2009 10:04:34 PM
^^ good, i'm about to head to OH and have been wanting to find some better loot
11/3/2009 8:45:24 AM
ahah i ran away from a pack of 6 psycho midgets and a few skags last nightglad i made it
11/3/2009 8:53:00 AM
I'm just now getting to some of the missions in Krom's Canyon. How far is that into the game?
11/3/2009 9:26:11 AM
I hate the ants that can destroy your car and kill you in one hit if you drive over them
11/3/2009 9:50:30 AM
43 zerker, xbox gamertag leftyncsu.anyone got tips on farming gold items?im to new haven on playthrough 2.

^thanks! That was actually way more informative than I expected. pretty cool!
11/3/2009 3:13:59 PM
hahawell hopefully it'll work when I get up thereI'm at 29 right now and after completing as many missions as I can find I'm about to head into Old Haven. was on a level 11 soldier last night and opened a chest to get a level 25 gold sniper rifle, volcano effect. i was like . too bad it wasnt a combat rifle also, find i level much faster playing co-op. 1 evening playing with a buddy from work and now i got a level 20 soldier from scratch.[Edited on November 4, 2009 at 8:02 AM. I'm surprised it's not a washI know the more players in a game, the more creatures that spawn, but I thought all experience was split up between the characters.Instead of 1 creature for 10 exp, there were 5 for 2 exp each.I dunno though, I have yet to play any co-op.
11/4/2009 8:21:03 AM
I was under the impression that the enemies were tougher in multiplayer games, meaning they had higher levels which translates to more experience given. So in your example it wouldn't be 5 for 2 exp each, it would be 5 for 15 exp each. I'm not sure how they divvy up the experience either.
11/4/2009 8:58:12 AM
i need a goddamn combat rifle with more than 12 rounds alreadyand when the hell can i hold more than 12 items?
11/4/2009 9:10:40 AM
You can increase the number of items you carry by repairing 'claptraps'. Claptraps are those annoying boxy robots. Progressing through the game will take you past several claptraps that are broken down. They give quests to repair them. They'll give you an item that increases your backpack size once you find the repair kit / finish the quest.Something I don't quite understand. They give you an item that increases your backpack size as a quest reward. You have to manually select the item to get the benefit. I don't see why that wasn't an automatic thing. Maybe for people that want to buy/sell/trade the item??
11/4/2009 9:39:29 AM
also, hang around the claptraps when you rescue them. often times afterwards they will walk over and open a locked door or something to get you some more loot.
11/4/2009 9:59:45 AM
^ I don't understand that either. Especially since it can push you over the limit (could have 13/12 items, one being your backpack upgrade)
