Here is my post from the sleep apnea thread. I had a septoplasty, turbinate reduction, tonsils removed, uvula trim.I researched some and went with Dr. Holmes at ENT and Audiology Assoc. right by Rex. I had the same problem with my nose and throat including my uvula. I decided to have both done at the same time since I am young and would miss about the same amount of work.I am feeling much better now, however the events of the past month or so have been anything but great. I had the surgery Aug 25th and felt OK. Then a couple of days later, I was coughing (not hard) from some ice cream and popped open 2 veins in my throat and had to go to the ER where he cauterized them. We called him and he met us there in 25 min. I have nothing but good things to say about him and his staff. They were all excellent. After the ER visit, I didnt eat for almost 5 days and had to force down liquids. Worst pain Ive ever felt. I thought I would be out of work for a week or so plus a weekend....wrong! I was out 2 weeks and on strong painkillers the whole time. I was lucky I scheduled some time at the beach prior to this, so I had almost 3 weeks of recovery.Would I do it again? Definitely. Had I not been to the ER, I would have not been in so much pain. Its amazing how much I can breathe through my nose, and I feel I sleep better too. It is still healing so I should see improvement as well. It has been a little weird learning how to swallow and not take large bites of food, most likely b/c of my uvula trim. I am still working my way back up to spicier foods/pepper.

Dr. Harvey Price - great ENT located on Blue Ridge Rd. Dr. Price is in Raleigh but I agree with 73 that if you are willing to drive to Rocky Mount, Dr. Baggett is is one of the best ENTS in the southeast area of the US. Good to see you take your health seriously and are doing the research in picking your ENT. Anytime you have problems with your ears, sinus, or throat - I would Always go to my ent. I personally go to Dr. Price and can vouch that his office, service, treatments, and staff are legit.

I know who I would not want cutting up my sinuses. Spector at Mann ENT removed a salivary duct stone and by the time he was done with that I wanted to punch him for being an idiot. I canceled the followup appt so I wouldn't have to see him again. Didn't listen to me when I said the local was wearing off (told him beforehand it didn't last long on me) until it was completely gone and I could feel every cut he was making. Then I told him vicodin doesn't do shit for me unless I take so much it knocks me out (been taking it for years, doesn't work anymore) and the fucker wouldn't give me anything else. I have been to a lot of doctors and he's one of the few bad ones I'd never go back to. Fucker wrote me a script for 40 lortab for a salivary duct stone removal (insane by itself), and I told him 4 percs would have done me more good but he didn't give a shit.

I have had very irritating sinus issues myself.I'd recommend either Dr. DebaraTucci with Duke Hospital (also have a private practice in Raleigh off Wake Forest Rd.), or Dr. Mark Brown with Capital ENT.
