oh he is a cutie! How'd he do in the car?
10/24/2009 6:42:43 PM
He was just fine...once we got him in there. The only way we were able to get him to go in the car on his own was to put my MIL's (female) dog in there. He's not neutered yet Otherwise, we have to lift him in there, and then he's ALL over the place, looking for a way to get out. Once he realizes there's not one, he just sits down calmly in the back. He's going to be a good dog to take camping

PS: dog peoplegive me training pointers, and shit: my first dog never, ever got trained. He just lived in his yard, and was happy, and would pull my arm out whenever I took him on walks. Then the second dog in my life ever is my husband's, who was mature, and very, very well-trained - to the point we think he may have been a show dog at some point. So, by the time I recognized the importance and value of training a dog, my dog had lived with no training or manners for...ever. This one craves attention so much I don't think it'll be overly difficult to train him...but I have no idea what one is supposed to train a dog to do. He's (hopefully) going to be an inside/outside dog, so housebreaking is a given.[Edited on October 24, 2009 at 8:44 PM. Reason : sdf]

that looks like an australian shepherd w/ husky. BEAUTIFUL DOGGIE
10/24/2009 8:44:54 PM
I'd buy that. I've chalked up his flanking tendencies to the skittishness, and then the tendency to try to follow us (especially Z), to submissive behavior - but if he's a herding mix, that'd make perfect sense.[Edited on October 24, 2009 at 8:47 PM. Reason : snse]

In case we were somehow unsure of whether he likes us:He got out of the backyard (squeezed through a hole in the fencing on the gate)...And went nowhere. Just sitting outside of it, waiting for us.

we stopped to unlatch the gate at our house the other day and we started driving down the path and my little chihuahua just very quickly hopped up on my lap and out the window. that little fucker is too scared to jump off a chair by himself sometimes
10/25/2009 3:43:45 AM
I once had my dog in the back of slingblade's truck while he was driving and I had a leach on him... fucker tried to jump out like 5 times while the car was moving.
