May have been done before, but what the hey. Here's a thread for current and up-coming tech deals... links and prices are awesome. I'm thinking that Black Friday would be a great place to start.

I saw http://www.blackfriday.info listed elsewhere.

I ordered the Seagate 2TB external hard drive from Newegg's Pre-Black Friday sale YESTERDAY at about noon, got the free 3-day UPS shipping. I get home from work at 5pm TODAY and it's already on my doorstep. <3 Newegg, this is why you should be doing all your Black Friday electronics shopping online.

NewEgg's stuff seems to be hit-or-miss right now, but I saw at least one interesting thing...

Fantom Drives G-Force 2TB USB 2.0 / eSATA External Hard Drive GF2000EU - Retail
$159.9 ($139.99 after $20.00 Mail-In Rebate pdf)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822204094

Not a bad start. If I needed some external space, I'd seriously consider picking that up.

Oh, the one I got was the Seagate Expansion 2TB external drive. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148503

$150 for that one, I'm cool with paying $10 more for a Seagate and not having to deal with a rebate.

there are so many digital camera deals. anyone know a good budget camera thats a great deal?

http://reviews.cnet.com/best-budget-cameras/

out of these i've narrowed it to the easyshare z915, powershot sd1200 is, lumix dmc-fs15, powershot a1100 is, easyshare m1093 is, and the casio ex-z250...but i don't know how to determine the best one

what do you need/want in a camera?

i've owned an sd450 since they came out..same camera. always works, never had a problem with it.

so, my vote is towards the sd1200

also, i've had a few kodak's and not had good luck with them and the pics never seemed nearly as good.

^not to boost your ego or anything but I am leaning toward the sd1200. i am just your regular point and click type user, but in a jungle of point and clicks, i want the best. another plus for the sd1200 is they have been on slickdeals a few times(for prices less than the black friday prices)

[Edited on November 26, 2009 at 8:41 PM. Reason : my first digi cam was a kodak, and it was "ok" but nothing great. want to go with something else]

I've been eyeing this laptop for a few weeks. It was at $630 (not on sale). I just checked it. It's now at $899!?!?!

Do they do this shit often? Are they trying to make the black friday sales look good by comparison?

2tb external "green" hard drive with fanless aluminum case, eSATA, and USB 2.0 $140 AR/FS

http://www.buy.com/prod/fantom-greendrive-2tb-usb-2-0-and-esata-external-hard-drive-2-year/q/loc/101/212502309.html

i really like these enclosures and the rebates have always been quick for me...if the company is still the same, then it's probably a 2tb WD green drive, but with a 8mb cache instead of 16 or 32mb

had i not gotten in on the $114 2tb 7200rpm 32mb hitachi deal last week, i probably would have bought this

via slickdeals.net:

Amazon has Samsung LN52B550 52" 1080p LCD HDTV + Samsung BD-P1600 Blu-ray Disk Player for $1139 with free shipping.

I have this TV, and fucking love it. I paid about 1300 back in august tho, without the blu-ray.

i have the samsung [insert model here] that happens to be a 42" 720p plasma and i, too, love it!

it actually has nothing to do with the deal above, since it's a completely different model and technology, but since i like samsung, i'm gonna go with "you'll love your tv, too!"

I didnt see much that was good, this year. A lot of the sales are on junk they are tying to clear out. Last year, especially on HDTVs, it was bananas. Price wars on good stuff

agreed, it's all the low end garbage that they turn into loss leaders. The electronics 'deals' are usually limited production models made just for black friday, typically with obsolete components to minimize production cost. It's why you never see any 3rd party reviews on any of the models featured on BF ads.

I think the one really interesting deal I saw was for an Acer netbook at $199, I think on either Amazon or Buy.com. Similar specs to most that are a hundred more. Too bad they're sold out now.

Dunno if this link will work, but gonna try it anyway...

I just saw this today, figured it might interest some folks.

Over a thousand free MP3 songs on Amazon.com
http://www.amazon.com/b/?&node=334897011&pf_rd_p=469729471&pf_rd_s=right-3&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_i=678551011&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=0R4YG9NQ1MDGFEEHZGX1

There's actually a really diverse selection here, including some seasonal music, by a variety of artists. There's a few fairly well-known names here, as I scroll through the list. Worth a look if you'd like to add to your collection for free, and have a little time to spend.
