I bought a good running 318is for $400. Would have been a perfect lemons car, but instead I put a few hundred into fixing junk and cleaning it up.

It does run. Suspension is worn out, loud and leaves you smelling like you just spent 4 hours with a 2-stroke lawn mower. But it runs.

me and a couple of friends seriously considered putting something together for this last year, then every one moved to various parts of the country/had kids/got too busy with work/etc
