I was hit and run away from tonight at about 7:55 pm.

The other driver was a caucasian female between 5'6"-5'9" with long blonde hair, pale skin, and a pock marked face.

The license plate is an out of state plate that looks like HDR-5348
The H might be an N, the D might be a B... I am fairly certain about the numbers. The tag was white and blue.

I didn't get a good look at the color of car she was driving, and I was busy trying to get her license plate as she was driving away to notice the make or model. The plate on the front of her car is pretty mangled now.

I know it's not a lot to go on, I wish my eyes were better. If you see the car, please call me at 336-941-0086

Maybe you should look at some out of state tags and see if one design look familiar.

you could also research how states organize their plates. if you're SURE there were 3 letters then 4 numbers you could eliminate some states with white and blue tags if they use a different format

Good luck, G. That's the worst.

This wasn't the pedestrian hit and run I heard about from my friend was it?

blue letters with a blue top and bottom and a white background is VA, and we have 3 then 4 on our license plates (at least i'm pretty sure that we do)

Like the one with the American flag on here.

yea, but that wouldn't work on the numbering of the license plate... whoops, i tried to help

how the hell do you get an accurate description of the driver including pock marks on her face, AND get a license plate number, but yet didn't notice the color of the car?

crazy how the mind processes things.

Yes, I called the cops. The numbers I gave them (or the state) isn't returning any results.

The accident happened on the corner of Method and Western.

I don't know that the front plate was a license plate. It may have been a vanity plate of some random thing. It was pretty messed up, so I didn't get a good look at what it said.

Sorry for the double post. I was looking at the license plate website from above and I am 100% certain that the tags were Michigan tags. Thanks for posting that resource.

which direction were they going, and did they continue in that direction?
you said at the corner of western and method: was this in the street, in the parking lot of one of the business, or what?

Was the driver fat or skinny? Young or old?

My folks live over there and I work not too far. I'll keep my eyes peeled for sure.

What kind of car was it? Truck? SUV? Sedan? You must have at least noticed the shape of the car if not the make and model.

four door sedan.

I'm sorry I didn't post it at first, but I would place her between 18-25. I know that's a big gap, but with girls nowadays I never know.

She was medium height, medium sized. Not fat enough to be round, not skinny. long blonde hair, past her shoulders. pock marked face. Had another girl with her that looked very similar, I'd almost peg her as a younger sister.

She was pulling out of the gas station on WEstern and Method, and I was coming up to the light to turn left off method on to Western. When she fled she went North on Method (away from Western) and disappeared pretty quickly into the night.

Did some paint from her car break off onto your car? It's a stretch but you might be able to identify the car maker if you had enough paint from her car

is there a way to search the campus directory for permanent addresses? Considering the vicinity and age, there's a chance she's an NCSU student. Or visiting an NCSU student.

a lot of gas stations have security cameras nowadays installed because people weren't paying gas when it got so expensive. see if the cops would go to the gas station to ask for tapes around the time that it happened. i'd do that quick, they tape over them pretty quickly from what i've experienced

^^ how many students can there be at NCSU from Michigan? Once you have names, look their asses up on FB, MySpace, etc. and see if any of them look familiar. It's no guarantee, but maybe he'll get lucky and one of them will be the chick.

Was it really necessary to be a smartass about it simply b/c you didn't understand how the OP may possibly use that information to their benefit?

^^Don't make the assumption that I don't understand how such information could be beneficial. That type of information isn't available in the search, which is something you could have figured out on your own.

she actually pulled off at the almadina market after she hit me. I pulled over there as well and got out to see the damage. When she saw she had gashed my car she started cussing and asked if she could give me her information. I looked down at my phone to call the police while she went back to her car and looked up to the sound of her pulling back out of the parking lot and speeding off.

I checked the Almadina and the officer on my case checked the gas station. They don't have any cameras outside at Almadina OR the gas station. They have a camera inside, but I don't know if the officer saw anyone on it that fit the description of the girl.

^^^ c'mon man

your last post:

your post before that:

"Yes, but where is that relevant?"

I didn't assume you didn't understand. You said "Yes" (either suggesting there was a way to search that info. or agreeing that she is likely a student) and then you asked how it would be relevant. You then made a smartass comment about cars not being listed in the directory.

And now, you claim you knew how the information could be beneficial and you say it's not possible to get that information. So, why did you ask how it's relevant (maybe I'm misunderstanding you)?

FYI: there are methods of searching the directory other than the web interface most people use day to day. And when I was a student, permanent addresses were listed. So, it's not that crazy of an idea that there is a way to search for that info. and you and I just aren't aware of. And I did check the web based directory tool before making my original post.

They found her. My eyes weren't as bad as I thought, the license plate I gave the police was right. Apparently she's a regular at the gas station she was pulling out from, and she happened to come back by as the officer on my case was there.

She doesn't have insurance.

So let's rename this thread "I got hit and she doesn't have insurance"

Anyone with some experience about this? Will the insurance company go through the process of covering my car and suing her for the damages?

Thoughts are welcome.

Isn't it illegal to be uninsured in NC? Or is this one of those things where because her car is registered in Michigan she's beholden to their rules and not NC's?

^ Yes and yes.

If you have full coverage you should be able to pay your deductible and get the car fixed by your insurance company. They'll probably go after her and, if they recoup their money, they will refund your deductible. It's unlikely that they'll recoup it though.

If not your SOL in dealing with your own insurance and you're going to have to help her acquire meth making supplies so she can pay you back.

Because you can't squeeze blood from a turnip...Depending on the cost of the damages it is likely to be either too cheap for the insurance company to spend a lot of time pursuing or too expensive for her ever to pay back.
