FUCK ARE YOU SERIOUS!? WORST. NEWS. EVER.One of the shows I was really really excited to have returning. this is why i've really stopped myself from getting involved with NBC dramas.

i never got into it... couldn't take guy seriously
10/9/2009 8:04:55 AM
Looks like one could make a serious case for an "OC Curse" similar to the Seinfeld CurseWhere none of the principal actors can achieve any sustained success afterwardsWould be an interesting case study
10/9/2009 8:51:17 AM
Haha! I knew it! My parents watched this show, and I was like "c'mon guys...seriously?"
10/9/2009 9:10:30 AM
i liked this one
10/9/2009 12:16:22 PM
BRING BACK ER!
10/9/2009 2:36:47 PM
i haven't even seen it, but i look for trauma to be the next great cancelled nbc series
10/9/2009 3:12:12 PM
I think I saw a few of thesenot too bad
10/10/2009 1:31:39 AM
apparently NBC thought it was too serious or whatever for the 9pm slot, but they couldn't move it to 10pm because of the jay leno show
10/10/2009 7:28:26 AM
Southland is inching closer and closer to being picked up by TNT.In all likely hood TNT will package the original 6 episodes along with the freshly produced 6 or 7 episodes of what was to be season 2 and air them all as a brand new package.TNT produces some corny shit but this is probably the best chance Southland has to find the audience it deserves. I for one will watch the old episodes again
10/26/2009 10:00:02 AM
10/26/2009 10:15:18 AM
This is why I only watch USA, HBO and showtime.
10/26/2009 10:32:43 AM
10/26/2009 10:42:32 AM
i hope it's picked up by tnt, maybe they could not bleep out everything as well. i was just starting to get into this show & then nbc fucks u like usual
10/26/2009 12:15:43 PM
i think the bleeps were on purpose, to give it that realistic documentary feel kind of like COPS. But, TNT may opt to uncensor which could be cool.

For the record, and those of you who are my FB friends will recall when I 'broke the news' ....(I realize there are only a handful of you, but whatever, just reminding you all how Hollywood I am) just so you know how fucking stupid NBC is....:-6 episodes had already been shot when they decided to shut down production. -Mind you NBC still has to continue to pay out it's contracts to the actors, crew, production etc....so since they've already spent a big chunk of the money, they figured it was better to drop it. -Apparently it was 'too dark' for tv.-Leno continues to suck.-No one watches Hero's.-Chuck (which I think is the last good show on NBC besides the Office) doesn't start til mid season and since it was almost cut last year, there's a good chance it'll happen this time around.NBC has a death wish. They kinda remind of the Cleveland Indians owner in 'Major League'
10/28/2009 9:31:39 PM
^fyi, NBC just upped Chuck's season to 19 episodes so i doubt that series is going anywhere at least this season. And most of that has either been discussed ITT or is pretty common knowledge if you've followed this show's off camera struggle or even do a simple google search.
10/29/2009 8:25:13 AM
Oh...well good, glad Chuck was picked up, I was merely pointing out that NBC seems to shoot itself in the foot...As for the rest....ok, was just putting in my two cents
10/29/2009 11:55:49 AM
NBC really is awful.
10/29/2009 11:58:14 AM
ever since the departure of Seinfeld .. Friends...NBC has continued to go into the crapper with their decision making.

I didn't watch/see Southland, but I was listening to an Adam Corolla podcast today, and he was talking to Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad, Malcolm in the Middle) and they mentioned Southland as an example of what is wrong with network TV, and their ongoing battle with cable. The trend is clear - more and and more shows are coming to cable/premium, and they are getting better and better, and taking viewers away from network. Just in the past 2-3 years cable shows have started to win all the major emmys, and the best dramas and comedies are on cable channels that nobody would even think about watching 5 years ago - AMC has Mad Men and Breaking Bad; FX Rescue Me, It's Always Sunny, The Shield, Damages; of course Showtime and HBO, etc. Anyway, their point was, the networks continue to moan and whine about losing viewers to better, grittier, more experimental cable shows, and when network does land on something great like Southland, they're too chicken-shit to let it play. Adam also made a pretty good comparison, likening the "Big 4" networks to the "Big 3" auto makers. i.e. in the 70s and 80s, the auto makers should have been able to see what was coming from the overseas competition, but they just continued to make shit. So now in the past 15 years, the Networks should have been able to see what was about to happen with cable, but they continue to make shitty comedies and derivative dramas and won't take any risks, and are now caught completely flat-footed as their ratings tank.
11/1/2009 1:00:40 AM
^that was a great podcast. Adam has had a few weak guests on lately, but Cranston was solid. And I completely agree with what was said.
11/1/2009 10:46:59 AM
just saw it was officially picked up, just to clear any doubt if there was any
11/2/2009 12:33:46 PM
TNT makes it real official:http://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/tnt-picks-up-acclaimed-drama-southland-68569317.html
11/2/2009 1:52:56 PM
I hope you people watched last night. This show needs followers right off the bat, reairing last years episodes or not. LONG LIVE SOUTHLAND
1/13/2010 1:14:10 PM

1/13/2010 6:21:48 PM
"Southland" is a title that doesnt grab me as something to try to watch anyway
1/13/2010 7:20:17 PM
hate I missed it. I forgot all about it. hopefully its up ondemand in a few days
1/13/2010 7:44:48 PM
This show is pretty badass, if you give it a shot you will like it.
1/16/2010 9:36:56 PM
So i see that they will be playing the first season that aired on NBC. Are they then going to show the 7 episodes they shot for the second season right after or going to wait until next year. I watched this when it was on NBC and loved it but I really don't want to watch the "old" episodes again.
1/17/2010 1:11:17 AM
Just watched the first episode.Pretty badass so far.I like the feel of it.
1/17/2010 3:42:08 AM
^^the new episodes start in march as soon as the old episodes finish
1/17/2010 11:32:56 AM
NBC is fucking retarded for cancelling this show. How did it do in the ratings during the first season?
1/17/2010 1:52:52 PM
I thought it was cool as hell how they had old Johnny Cash playing at the end. It gave it sort of a "spooky" feeling.
1/17/2010 2:45:24 PM
^^It did fine in the ratings. They cancelled it when they moved your boyfriend Jay Leno to 10 o'clock because they said the subject matter wasn't appropriate to run at 9pm or earlier.
1/17/2010 4:10:49 PM
My boyfriend Jay Leno??? I'm strictly Team Conan.
1/17/2010 4:36:29 PM
Ha, I know. I'm just saying this show was another that was almost ruined by Leno's drama. But I think it'll do much better on TNT.
1/17/2010 6:07:18 PM
I'm watching last week's episode on the DVR now. This shoiw is cool as shit. My favorite character is the hard-ass veteran cop.
1/30/2010 12:26:21 PM
^haha yeah he is awesome but...keep watching and tell me what you think in 5 weeks[Edited on January 30, 2010 at 5:32 PM. Reason : add]

3/6/2010 6:33:01 PM

3/6/2010 6:52:54 PM
