HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA please tell me another.

The team with 2 out of the top 3 pitchers in the NL starting games 1 & 2 are going to get swept.

[Edited on October 5, 2009 at 11:26 PM. Reason : Waino/Carp may finish 1, 2 in Cy Young]

ALDS
Yanks in 4...Twinkies' magic eventually runs out

Angels in 5...Once the torch has been passed to the long-suffering team, the two rivals usually don't meet in the postseason again (Isiah-Jordan; Cowboys-49ers; Pats-Colts). That trend continues this year (we DON'T need to see Yanks-Sox IV anyway)

NLDS
Cards in 3...The fact that "Dem Bums" waited until the next to last day to win their own division shows that they've run out of steam (anytime the Dodgers get bounced

Phils in 4...I had my doubts about this team six months ago, but they could be legit contenders if their pitchers can get their act together (i.e., their closers)

ALCS
Yanks in 7...This is merely a tossup, but for once, the Bronx Hype Machine backs up all that dough their owners spent

NLCS
Cards in 6...The pitching for the Red Birds will be too strong for the champs and expect Lidge to collapse once again

WS
Cards in 7...The $200M payroll gets shut down at the most inopportune time

Not sure if they are talking about this on SC or wherever, but it's gonna fucking snow here in Denver on Saturday, haha... Game 3 may be interesting.

It's pretty pathetic watching the first 3 innings of Dodgers games, there's like 4 people in the first 6 rows behind home.

An Angels/Dodgers series would guarantee at least two ballpark murders, possible riots, etc.... Which are always nice.

I'm wondering if the Phils can get by the Rockies. Their starting pitching is as good as any manager could ever want, but since Lidge decided to implode again that bullpen has been real shaky. I have a feeling they will end up having a save blown in a critical situation in this series. Colorado's bats are really good.

Tony La Russa begs to differ....although the Phils is pretty good. Hamels has not been the same this year.

Carpenter, Wainwright, Piniero, Lohse, Smoltz>>>>Lee, Hamels, Happ, Blanton, Pedro or Moyer

Mauer should've made that play at the plate

^^completely agree, but I'd also put Utley/Howard/Ibanez over Pujols/Holliday/Ludwick (or however StL has their 3-4-5 hole configured)

[Edited on October 7, 2009 at 7:46 PM. Reason : and I'd obviously take Pujols individually over any single Philly batter]

Part of me wants the Dodgers to win this series. The other part of me says they probably can't beat Boston or New York if it comes down to it....

^^^ I agree as well. Carpenter and Wainwright had great years and if it weren't for Timmy there would be a Cy Young in STL. However, I wasn't saying they were the best, only that they were above average and that if you had that group you would have to like your chances going into Oct as evidenced by Lee's CG shutout yesterday.

I should have chosen my words better

One of the Cards should get it over Lincecum....problem is they will probably split votes. I can see any of the three getting it.

Carpenter last night made me . Never seen him have such poor control.

I think they should have the MVP, Cy Young, etc winners announced right after the season, like Basketball does

Because although they don't take into account postseason play, when a voter votes in November, he can't help but be influenced if someone shit the bed in the playoffs

Unless they vote now and just hold the results for a month, which would be silly

Pretty sure that's what they do. Bud doesn't want awards distracting the media and fans from the postseason games. It's the same reason they don't like free agent dealings announced until after the Series. And, yeah, it's pretty silly.

What's the point of having outfield umps when they're going to miss that type of call.

ahhh the sound of thuds as people fall off the red sox bandwagon... i swear their bandwagon fan base around here could contend with the yankees fanbase of the 90s-early 2000s

Thank you Angels!
