Trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GkC7HiAlAeEIf I could describe this film in one word it would be "fun." If I could describe it in two words they would be "bloody fun." If I could describe it in 323 words they would beDead Snow is a wonderful zombie film by director Tommy Wirkola. A group of four men and three women spend their Easter vacation in a cabin in the snowy mountains of Sweden. They encounter a strange man who warns them of an evil curse on the land left over from a horrific incident involving a Nazi regiment from World War 2. The group of partying vacationers ignore the crazy old man's warnings. I'm sure you can guess what happens next. It's a film that adheres to the traditions of what makes a great zombie film while still managing to be original enough to break from the pack. So, what do we expect from a great zombie film?1. Zombies: In Dead Snow, the zombies come not from a plague, not from a virus, but from a curse left over from World War 2. You see, a Nazi regiment chased a group of Jews deep into the mountains in search of their gold, but no one survived. What does this mean? Nazi zombies.2. Violence: And a hell of a lot of it. Chainsaws, mallets, blood sprays, gore, intestines, brains, shotguns, amputations, machine guns, and many other key ingredients are all present and accounted for. There are even some rather inventive methods of dispatching zombies that would only be reasonable if performed in the arctic wilderness setting of this film.3. Comedy: The slapstick zombie violence, the wise-cracking jokes, the sarcastic lamentation of an otherwise horrific situation, it's all here. This film borrows a lot of the comedic elements of Shaun of the Dead, and they do nothing but add positively to the film.To put it simply, until I see Zombieland, this is the best zombie film of 2009. It's a shame that this is an import, and it will probably not get a major release in US theaters. I highly encourage you to snag this up when you can. It's destined to become a classic of the genre.Yes, I shamelessly stole this review from my shitty review site: http://mattgronke.com/?p=109

Perhaps we were in the wrong mood when we watched it, but my entire cadre (which usually loves zombie movies, especially comedic ones) did not value this movie very highly. But I could see where we were supposed to like it, so I'm glad you did.

I saw it a few months ago and it is indeed quite good. You can find it on bittorrent but you'll probably have to put your own subtitles in.

Just finished watching it and thought it was pretty entertaining. There were some very shaun of the dead -esque moments. And using an outhouse during the scandinavian winter sucks.
