How do I make a line and put text in the middle? The only example I can find that is exactly what I am talking about is on this resume where it says "professional experience":

create a 2x3 (row)x(column) table

center and merge the middle column and put your text in. then put a border between the outer rows

As far as I'm getting is clicking on the table tab, then draw table, then I put 2 column, 3 row. That's probably wrong b/c I'm getting stuck

there are things called buttons, on this thing called the ribbon. There's a tab on the ribbon called "Table" that has all these answers

Thought I had it. Down to the last step, when you say put a border between the outer rows what exactly do you mean?

I guess I should have said outer columns, but you shouldn't really be having this many problems. It's Word, something every college graduate should know. I'm curious, what do you do for a living that doesn't require you to know basic word processing skills?

Highlight the top cell in the left column, and under the Table Tools, Design tab, click the Borders button and choose "Bottom Border" Repeat this for the right column.

I highly recommend that you take a course at a community college on basic word processing. It will help you greatly.

there’s probably a half-dozen different ways to do this in Word.

My way of choice would have been to just draw a line in.

^^I sell watches, handbags and DVDs in NYC. I also have a part time operation as owner and operator of an organic kitty litter company (hasn't taken off yet, but it will)

I just signed up for some classes on craigslist with a college professor. He is actually paying me to take the course, he just needs the experience so he can get a job in the states.
