So last night I was on Western when the car in front of me stopped short, and when I stepped on the brakes, they decided not to work.So now I have a busted headlight, a smashed up grill, and the hood is dented up so high that I can barely see over it. The car is currently undrivable (brakes and steering are both gone) and I don't know what to do.

new(used) car.
9/20/2009 5:18:34 PM
can't. need to fix this one. where should i go?
9/20/2009 5:39:38 PM
PM Sent.

so what happens when the cost of repairs surpasses the value of the car.... or the cost of a new car...NEW (USED)CAR
9/20/2009 7:35:22 PM

9/20/2009 7:45:06 PM

If you need some help let me know. I'm starting to take on more and more body work by the day
9/20/2009 8:32:48 PM
2005 chrysler sebring
9/20/2009 8:38:39 PM
So this was reported to the police and your insurance company is helping you take care of it, right?Right? You didn't put yourself in the situation where you had something that you couldn't afford to repair in the case of an accident, but you could've afforded to insure for collision, right?Cause otherwise you're fucked and may as well just scrap the damn thing and buy a new (used) car and deal with a couple hundred dollar a month payment. Or maybe just buy a moped.
9/20/2009 9:20:37 PM
The collision center is estimating $5200, just got off the phone with the claims adjuster so we'll see what happens after she checks it out. Chances are the car will be totaled.
9/23/2009 12:54:11 PM
d'oh[Edited on September 23, 2009 at 1:39 PM. Reason : and whats the deal with your insurance? that is NOT going to be cheap to fix.]
9/23/2009 1:38:35 PM
for future reference:e-brake
9/23/2009 2:45:25 PM
haha does that include the cost of new brakes too or is that just cosmetic?
9/23/2009 2:48:03 PM
looks totalled to me
9/23/2009 2:56:33 PM
That'll buff out.
9/23/2009 3:15:16 PM
Borderline totalled. It will all depend on how many miles the car has.High miles will make it worth less and that means TOTALLED.The brakes probably work. Slamming on the brakes + wet road + POS sebring's 2 channel ABS system = BOOM
9/23/2009 3:18:42 PM
next time i need to get a car not made out of plastic and styrofoam
9/23/2009 6:59:39 PM
They pretty much all are now. I wouldn't recommend another Chrysler.
9/23/2009 7:14:13 PM
I doubt it'll be totaled - that would be too fortunate.
9/23/2009 7:27:47 PM
the subaru i hit didn't have a scratch on it
9/23/2009 8:27:10 PM
Sounds like you need to buy a subaru, then!
9/23/2009 9:14:21 PM
sounds like you need something with a big break combo option buy ford or toyota

9/24/2009 2:28:07 PM
like a 95is legacy wagon. make sure you put a strait rainbow front tag on it though
9/24/2009 11:09:53 PM
Nationwide said that if the car is fixable, it will only cost me $500 (yay collision insurance).
9/24/2009 11:31:26 PM
might as well save it an buy a use raggamuffin and drive it. then sell it after a while cause that cloud isnt gonna be worth a carp when you sell it make sure the guy looks at the steering rack. a car like that needs to be totalled out. not trying to be a troll here, but you are gonna have nothing but problems with that car if it gets repaired
9/24/2009 11:53:38 PM
especially if some half wit hack like you is the one doing the repairs.
9/25/2009 12:46:59 AM
id like to see a complaint from someone on this site after ive worked on their shit. then you may have the floor. until then keep your comments to yourself, peanut gallery
9/25/2009 12:51:11 AM
you are a barely literate hack and a second class shadetree jackleg
9/25/2009 1:02:38 AM
you are a piece of shit wolfwebber. get that through your fucking thick ass head.

9/25/2009 3:27:07 AM
Oh whops I just wbet back and read what I wrote. I loled at myself. But you get the point
9/25/2009 8:13:16 AM
for now i'm driving my sister's pontiac vibe. pretty awesome gas mileage, handles well, but not all that great to drive.
9/25/2009 12:04:39 PM
i'm starting to see a trend with your family
9/25/2009 12:32:10 PM
GL with it dude. Hopefully you can get it fixed. They say what caused the initial failure?
9/25/2009 4:41:12 PM
10/19/2009 9:04:59 AM
I'm getting the car back on Thursday hopefully. I was told the reason why the air bags didn't go off is because the impact was too high. I went more under the other car than into it.
